Spider-Man: No Way Home is getting praised as one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's greatest movies, and for good reason. Spider-Man has long been a fan-favorite character, and the film takes everything fans love about him and combines it all with the MCU's new focus on the multiverse to create a movie that fans can't get enough of.

While the multiversal aspects of the movie are what makes it so special, there are many out there who would have preferred the MCU Spider-Man got to face more villains before going back to the multiversal well, as it were. The comics are full of great Spider-Man foes that could have been used before bringing in the multiverse.

10 Black Cat Would Have Made Life Interesting For Peter

Black Cat Infinite Score

Black Cat is a rather blatant Catwoman rip-off, down to her crush on the hero she fights, but that doesn't make her a bad character. She's always been a great part of the Spider-Man mythos, and there were plans to bring her into the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies before fan and critical reaction to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 killed that version of the franchise.

It would have been great to see Spidey go up against the cat burglar, especially because of the love triangle that she would bring into play. Black Cat would have been a great foil for the goody two shoes Parker and would have made a fine villainous addition.

9 Sin-Eater Deserves The Kind Of Recognition That A Movie Could Give The Villain

Marvel Comics SIN-EATER Kindred Sin-Eater Looking Angry Under His Mask

Sin-Eater is one of Spider-Man's more interesting villains and would have made a great addition to the MCU. Sin-Eater's whole thing was that he thought his villainy helped the world. By killing those he decreed sinners, he was making the world a better place. This is a very different kind of villain than is usually seen in the MCU and would have made for a great movie.

Using Sin-Eater to explore Peter's morality would have allowed fans to really see how far he was willing to go as a hero. MCU villains aren't always great, and one as morally grey, yet still reprehensible, as Sin-Eater would do wonders.

8 Hammerhead Would Show A Different Kind Of Spider-Man Story

Hammerhead and Spider-Man duke it out As Hammerhead Breaks Through A Brick Wall

Movie fans are accustomed to a certain kind of Spider-Man story, one that pits him against evil villains more than actual criminals. However, Spider-Man faced both gimmick-y theme villains and criminals for years, with many gangs being run by a supervillain. Hammerhead was one of those villains.

Hammerhead had a metal plate in his head, which is where he got his name. He wasn't the most dangerous villain, but seeing Spider-Man take on a mafia-like gang would have been a different experience for moviegoers.

7 Chameleon Is An Important Spider-Man Villain

Chameleon Cover

Chameleon is one of Spider-Man's oldest villains. The Eastern European spy was one of the first villains Spider-Man fought and would later be revealed as an enemy of the Parkers when they were S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. He wasn't a physical match for Spider-Man, as his abilities were more about infiltration and taking on the identity of others.

Chameleon is another villain that isn't the typical Spider-Man movie foe, which makes him all the more interesting as a film antagonist. Beyond that, it could have connected Peter to S.H.I.E.L.D. even more and brought his parents into things in a much more natural way than the Amazing Spider-Man movies.

6 Rhino Deserves A Fair Cinematic Shake

Marvel Rhino Extreme Transformed Rampage

Rhino was in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but fans never really got to see him in action. On top of that, the cinematic version of the Rhino wasn't exactly great. An MCU version would certainly be closer to the comics and give moviegoers a villain that would challenge Spider-Man like no other. Rhino is one of the strongest villains out there, and seeing MCU Spider-Man go against him would have been a lot of fun.

Rhino is way stronger than Spider-Man, and the hero has a hard time hurting him. Spider-Man beats Rhino because he's smarter, and seeing MCU Spider-Man trying to figure out how to win a fight with brains over brawn would have shown new facets of the character.

5 The Jackal Would Have Been A Lot Of Fun And Opened Up The Clone Saga

Miles Warren as The Jackal in a lightning storm in Marvel Comics

The Jackal isn't well known outside the comics, but for comic fans, he's infamous. The Jackal is the architect of the Clone Saga, one of Spider-Man's most infamous stories, but beyond that, he's just a great villain. While he leans a little hard into the mad scientist archetype, he's quite entertaining, and because of the experiments he did on himself, he's a physical match for Spider-Man.

Most of Spider-Man's MCU villains have somehow been related to Tony Stark, and Jackal could change that. His obsession with Peter's genetics make him a villain that could have finally been wholly Spider-Man's own.

4 Hobgoblin Is Better Than He Gets Credit For

Hobgoblin feature

Hobgoblin has been fighting Spider-Man for a long time. More than one villain has been Hobgoblin, but he's always been a grave challenge, whether it was Roderick Kingsley or mercenary Jason Macendale. Most interestingly, Ned Leeds was Hobgoblin for a time, which makes things all the more intriguing for the MCU.

Ned is Peter's best friend, and having the two fight as Spider-Man and Hobgoblin would have added a lot of drama to the movies. Even if they didn't go with Ned as Hobgoblin, there was lots of story potential for the villain.

3 Morlun Is One Spider-Man's Scariest Villains

Morlun and Spider-Man

Spider-Man has a lot of terrifying villains, and that's something that movie fans haven't really seen, especially in the MCU. For the most part, MCU villains aren't exactly scary, but Morlun could change all of that. An interdimensional energy vampire who targets spider-powered people throughout the multiverse would make for a great villain.

Morlun has killed Spider-Man, and a battle against him could have led to the multiverse eventually. Spider-Man fought him before knowing about his connection to alternate worlds, so it would have fit for the MCU to eventually take things in that direction.

2 Scorpion Is A Classic Spider-Man Foe

The Scorpion In His Impressive New Suit from Marvel comics

Scorpion and Spider-Man have a long history. Funded by J. Jonah Jameson, Scorpion battled Spider-Man on his own and in the Sinister Six. He'd eventually gain the Venom symbiote, becoming more powerful than ever. Like many villains, he lost that extra power, but that doesn't change how important of a villain he is in Spider-Man history.

While he's always been strictly B-list among Spider-Man villains, never really masterminding his own schemes, he still would have made for a great movie villain. In fact, he could have been used to introduce a more antagonistic JJJ to the MCU, which was always a lot of fun in the Silver Age.

1 Kraven Is Spider-Man's Most Underrated Villain

Kraven-Spider-Man-Suit-Feature

Kraven the Hunter is a great villain and deserves some movie spotlight more than most. He's done his best to torment Spider-Man over the years, trying to prove that he's better than the Wall-Crawler. He's been a part of some iconic Spider-Man stories over the years, and putting him into the MCU would have been a great idea.

Kraven is a great Spider-Man villain, but he could also have worked against other MCU heroes as well. The comics often crossover villains, so it would have been great to see the MCU do that more. Kraven would make the perfect villain for that sort of thing, as well as a great MCU Spider-Man foe.
