In the Marvel cinematic universe, or the MCU, many comic book favorites have come to life, from Iron Man/Tony Stark to the Guardians of the Galaxy to the mighty avenger Thor, son od Odin. Thor is the prince of Asgard and the wielder of Mjolnir. With it, he can smash his enemies and summon lightning at will.

Ever since he appeared in his first standalone movie, Thor has proven himself a tough fighter, and he's faced a wide variety of villains and lesser enemies. He's faced a few serious challenges in the MCU, but other times, he had much less trouble dispatching his foes (or at least surviving them). Let's review Thor's fights in detail.

10 Easy Fight: Vs Thanos (In Wakanda)

Thor, with Stormbreaker in Thanos' chest.

What's this? How can a fight against the Mad Titan, Thanos, be easy? Thor clashed with Thanos a few times, and the second battle of theirs took place in a light forest in Wakanda. Thanos had just obtained the time stone from Doctor Strange, then the final stone from Vision the robot.

Thor came raging in from the sky and landed a terrific blow on Thanos with his new battle-ax, Stormbreaker. Thanos was badly injured, and he didn't even have the strength to hit back. Instead, he performed his snap, then retreated. Thor didn't take a scratch. Although ultimately Thor lost this fight, it was more a matter of aim.

9 Challenge: Vs Thanos (Final Fight)

Thor fought Thanos for the third and final time alone, after he and his fellows had traveled back in time to try and prevent the snap from happening. Thor had Stormbreaker with him, and he used it with all his might to challenge a fully armored Thanos.

Although Thor dealt some blows on the universe's greatest villain, Thor wasn't able to defeat Thanos. Instead, he bought enough time for Captain America to pick up Mjolnir and continue the fight, like a tag team. No one beats Thanos single-handedly.

8 Easy Fight: Vs The Hulk (In Aircraft Carrier)

Hulk in MCU

This is another character no one can defeat easily. The Incredible Hulk gets big, green, and angry when the fighting starts, and his rage only fuels his strength and aggression as the battle continues. During The Avengers, Bruce Banner turned into the Hulk inside the helicarrier.

The Hulk went on a rampage, and Thor took it upon himself to pacify this green giant. It wasn't easy, but then again, Thor didn't take any major damage, and outside events broke off the fight before it became a true fight to the death.

7 Challenge: Vs Malekith

The movie Thor: The Dark World featured a unique set of villains: the ancient Dark Elf race. These people fight for darkness, and they were the sworn enemies of the Asgardians. Once thought extinct, they are back, and their leader is Malekith.

Thor challenged Malekith directly, and it was a long, tricky duel that involved jumping through portals through the Nine Realms for the fate of the universe. Those are some serious stakes, and facing Malekith was a boss battle to match.

6 Easy Fight: Vs Iron Man

This was at the point where the Avengers were still meeting each other and trying to figure out how to get along. At some point, Loki the mad god was in Iron Man's custody, and Thor swooped in to take him away. Iron Man couldn't accept that.

So, Iron Man and Thor came to blows, but neither of them could deal serious injuries to the other. Those were more like "ow, my head!" wounds than the brutal injuries that Thor would suffer at the hands of Thanos and other foes. In the grand scheme of the MCU, this was a slap fight.

5 Challenge: Vs The Hulk (In Sakaar Battle Arena)

Thor would go on to fight the Hulk once again, this time on the junkyard world of Sakaar. The entertainment business is big here, and Thor was captured and forced to fight in the gladiator arenas. Due to his strength, Thor was pitted against the Hulk, so the fight would be fair.

The Hulk was more used to this, and he had armor, weapons, and strategies to match. Thor did all he could to handle this green menace, and the battle ended in a tie when Thor was knocked out remotely by the Grandmaster.

4 Easy Fight: Vs Marauders On Vanaheim

MCU Thor

This battle was really just glossed over in Thor: The Dark World, serving mostly to give Thor an explosive introduction in the movie. Just what is going on? The Bifrost has recently been repaired, and Thor and his fellows are pacifying marauders and bandits across the nine realms.

Thor, Sif and the others didn't have much trouble taking out the thuggish marauders on Vanaheim, and not even a giant rock monster could stand up to Thor. One big swing from Mjolnir shattered that elemental colossus to bits and Thor claimed victory.

3 Challenge: Vs Hela (Final Time)

Hela in Asgard in the MCU's Thor: Ragnarok

Thor's greatest enemy in Ragnarok was Hela, his and Loki's long-lost sister. Already, Hela had destroyed Mjolnir barehanded, and she aimed to rule Asgard herself. But Thor returned from Sakaar with the Hulk and Valkyrie, and it was time to take on Hela once and for all.

Fighting Odin's strongest child took all Thor had, and even with powerful allies by his side, Thor lost an eye and nearly lost his life, too. Hela was dispatched, but Asgard was soon lost as well. It was a rough day for Thor, that's for sure.

2 Easy Fight: Vs Chitauri Invaders

A Chitauri burns a city to the ground in The Avengers

In the climax of The Avengers, New York City was besieged by the deadly Chitauri alien race, being led by Loki himself. For the first time, the Avengers properly assembled to save the world, and Thor made sure to do his part.

Thor didn't face any significant challenges as he and his fellows took o0n the Chitauri, and his hammer and lightning powers were sufficient to destroy any enemy that got in his way. Thor only suffered scratches and light bruises from this battle, if even that.

1 Challenge: Vs Ultron Army

Avengers Age of Ultron

Thor had to fight another world-threatening army in The Avengers: Age of Ultron and the rogue AI known as Ultron had assembled quite the army for itself. Ultron was planning to lift off a city in Sokovia, and the Avengers arrived on the scene to destroy Ultron's automated army.

Easier said than done. The Ultron army pushed the Avengers much farther than the Chitauri army did in New York City, and the Avengers might have lost if it weren't for the powers of Vision, a friendly Avenger robot. Thor had his work cut out for him.
