The MCU seems to be expanding rapidly with consistent talk of a Multiverse. The latest news, that Jamie Foxx will surprisingly be returning in the role of Electro in the third installment of the movie franchise, takes fans one step closer to the news that there will be some kind of live-action Spider-Verse.

The success of the animated iteration of the Spider-Verse has demonstrated to Sony that there's definitely an audience for this idea. With a number of great characters from across both the comics and the live-action films, there's plenty of directions the Spider-Man sequel could go; besides of course the obvious choice of bringing back both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in the titular role.

10 Miles Morales

Miles Morales

Miles Morales has now been introduced to audiences in an animated form and it seems that they can't get enough of this younger web-slinger. The Brooklyn kid has been teased in the MCU previously, with his uncle Aaron appearing played by Donald Glover.

There's no better time to introduce Miles into live-action, than off the back of both an animated sequel and his appearance in his very own PS5 game. The character would be a great version of Spider-Man to bounce off of Tom Holland's own take on the role.

9 Spider-Gwen

Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy in a lab coat at Oscorp in The Amazing Spider-Man.

Gwen Stacy has appeared in two previous live-action Spider-Man films, but it's the Emma Stone version of the character that fans are most familiar with. She sadly lost her life in a battle against the Goblin, after falling from a clocktower, just like in the comics.

There's a real opportunity here to bring back Emma Stone's Gwen though, perhaps as a version from another dimension who transitioned into the Ghost-Spider, or Spider-Gwen as she's affectionately known. This would set up some interesting conflict if Garfield's Peter Parker also appears.

8 Morbius

Morbius

Morbius is one of the characters that Sony deems worthy as a live-action spin-off film, so it's only a matter of time before the living vampire faces off against Spider-Man. There's also the potential for the two to make quite a formidable team.

If Sony and Marvel Studios wish to create a film that brings all of these Spider-Man properties together, it makes a lot of sense to tie it into Morbius' journey. This is even more likely considering there are references to both the original Spider-Man trilogy and an appearance from the Vulture in the trailer.

7 Madame Web

Madame Web

If the Spider-Verse is being threatened in any way, or at the very least is part of the narrative, then Madame Web seems like a very likely character to bring into the mix. She's especially useful to helping to explain the Multiverse in this context.

The character is one that Sony has had their eyes on for a while now, with the Studio creating a master plan for Web that could see her arrive in a number of properties across the Spider-universe. Her first appearance could well be in the MCU sequel.

6 Silk

Silk

Silk is a character that is very far along in the movie development process, in terms of Sony's future projects. The teenager is yet another version of Spider-Man in many ways, but also brings a lot of new elements to the table.

The character is incredibly popular and could be introduced in a solo film before crossing over with some of the other masked heroes. Adding Silk in this way would expand the universe further and also add to the scale of the crossover.

5 Venom

Venom shares his mind with someone else

Venom has gone from villain to hero across the franchise and Sony has actually put out a relatively successful solo film for the character, alongside developing a sequel. It's no secret that the studio wants Tom Hardy's monster to face off against Tom Holland's hero.

There's no better way to do this than in a Spider-Verse film. The two characters could go through the classic journey of fighting against one another before teaming up, perhaps to take on some kind of larger symbiote threat, which is endangering the Multiverse.

4 Goblin Army

Goblin Army

There have been numerous versions of Norman Osborn's original villain on the big screen. There's been both the Green Goblin and New Goblin in the original movies and Goblin facing off against Garfield's Spider-Man.

There's potential here for the MCU version of the character to bring in the various versions from across the Multiverse and create a Goblin Army, something he possesses in the comics. This may also be an opportunity to bring in the more beastly Ultimate Goblin, seen in the animated universe.

3 Supaidāman

Supaidāman

The emissary of hell, Supaidāman, is quite a cult character. Originating in Japan, this live-action version of Spider-Man is unlike anything else put to screen. Besides a change in catchphrase and costume, the character is also knowing for owning a huge robot.

It would be both incredibly fun and extremely easy to bring Supaidāman into the MCU. It's easily explained in terms of the Multiverse and quite frankly it would be satisfying to see that huge mech in a high budget blockbuster for the first time.

2 John Jameson

 John Jameson Spider-Man

John Jameson might be an odd choice, considering he is such a minor character in Spider-Man 2 but considering there are now a couple of live-action versions of his father, it could be a lot of fun to bring this astronaut and hero into the MCU.

The most interesting thing about the character is that he's actually a werewolf. With the potential for vampires already in this crossover, it might be completely crazy but also understandable to also include a space werewolf into the mix.

1 Spiderling

Spiderling

MJ exists in the MCU, although not quite in the way that she did in the comics. However, the original trilogy included one of the best adaptations of the character on screen. It only makes sense that elsewhere in the Multiverse, Peter and Mary got married and had a child.

In the comics, this is exactly what happens, with Mary Jane gaining powers and becoming the hero known as Spinneret. Their child also gains similar abilities and fights crime as Spiderling. It would be fascinating to see the three Spideys come face to face with their daughter from another dimension.
