Actor Tatiana Maslany will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk for the the hero's eponymous Disney+ series. Right now, very little is known about She-Hulk and the direction it will take. However, one of the biggest questions is just who She-Hulk will test her mettle against.

There is, of course, no shortage of comic book supervillains that could appear on She-Hulk, but it would be pretty great if the television series featured the return of an original MCU villain: The Incredible Hulk's Emil Blonsky/Abomination.

Played by Tim Roth, Blonsky debuted in 2008's The Incredible Hulk, the second entry in the MCU. Brought in by Thunderbolt Ross to help hunt Bruce Banner, Blonsky was a special-ops soldier that saw himself as an aging fighter. As such, he rapidly became obsessed with getting better and stronger. Eventually, he agreed to be injected with a super-soldier serum meant to recreate the powers given to Captain America. As a result, Blonsky developed super-human abilities -- but there were other side-effects which, when combined with Samuel Sterns' own experiment, resulted in the creation of the Abomination.

At the end of the film, Hulk defeated Abomination, and the character hasn't appeared on screen since. However, he was mentioned in the 2011 one-shot The Consultant, which revealed he was locked up following the events of The Incredible Hulk. Therefore, as far as we know, Blonsky and his alter ego are still out there in the MCU, though his situation following the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Snap is unclear.

The Abomination in the streets

Roth's Abomination was frightening and a total powerhouse, which means he would make for a fearsome opponent for She-Hulk. However, the show doesn't necessarily just need to show the two fighting physically. Instead, there are also multiple ways She-Hulk could bring Blonsky back into the fold, including as a victim of illegal imprisonment in need of legal counsel or someone she's prosecuting.

Bringing Abomination back would also be an especially nice touch, because, compared to the rest of the MCU, The Incredible Hulk isn't acknowledged all that much. Given that he was the first villain Hulk fought in the MCU, having She-Hulk go up against Abomination in her first adventure would go a long way to showing how she'll be different from her cousin.

Developed for television by Jessica Gao (Rick and Morty) and starring Tatiana Maslany, She-Hulk is slated to premiere exclusively on Disney+.
