In a collection of lighthearted photos from the set of Marvel Studios' upcoming Disney+ original series Secret Invasion, a young Spider-Man cosplayer is seen exploring the filming location, seemingly while the show's crewmembers had their backs turned.A Twitter user shared photos of the young Spidey running around the set of Secret Invasion, which is currently filming on location in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. "One random kid dressed as [Spider-Man] randomly snuck onto the set of [Secret Invasion] in [Leeds] while nobody was looking," they wrote. The child is wearing what appears to be a Halloween costume of the red and black suit Tom Holland's Peter Parker wears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home.RELATED: Secret Invasion Footage Featuring Emilia Clarke Begins to Surface

That said, as multiple people have pointed out in the replies, these candid photos are actually very reminiscent of the 2014 Andrew Garfield-led film The Amazing Spider-Man 2. In The Amazing Spider-Man 2's final minutes, Garfield's Peter Parker is grief-stricken following the death of Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) and seemingly hangs up the mantle of Spider-Man as a result. So, when the Rhino (Paul Giamatti) is laying waste to the city, a young boy dressed as Spider-Man sneaks past a police barrier to challenge the villain himself. Ultimately, the real Spidey returns to take care of Rhino, thanking the child for "stepping up" before sending him back to his mother.

It is rather fitting that the child who infiltrated the set would be wearing an MCU Spider-Man costume, however, as the aforementioned Far From Home helped lay the groundwork for Secret Invasion. After Captain Marvel formally introduced the shapeshifting alien race known as the Skrulls to the MCU, Far From Home revealed that the Skrulls Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) and Soren (Sharon Blynn) had assumed the identities of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), respectively. They seemingly did so at the behest of Fury himself, who had retreated to outer space.

Set to debut on Disney+ later this year, Marvel Studios' Secret Invasion sees Jackson, Mendelsohn and Smulders reprise their respective roles of Nick Fury, Talos and Maria Hill. Additionally, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Killian Scott, Christopher McDonald and Carmen Ejogo have all been cast in undisclosed roles, though Ben-Adir is said to be playing a central antagonist.

The six-episode streaming series is based on Marvel's eight-issue comic book series of the same name by Brian Michael Bendis, Leinil Francis Yu, Mark Morales and Laura Martin, which served as the epicenter of the larger "Secret Invasion" crossover storyline that ran from mid 2008 to early 2009. Marvel Comics' Secret Invasion chronicles a planet-wide invasion by the Skrulls, who have secretly replaced many of Earth's superheroes.
