Wanda Maximoff has always been considered one of the more powerful characters in the MCU, especially since she was upgraded by an Infinity Stone and was able to almost single-handedly defeat Thanos. The events of WandaVision have confirmed that Wanda has wild magical abilities and she is only getting stronger as she learns more from the Darkhold.

Wanda is a powerhouse, but she is a bit of a glass cannon. She is incredibly powerful, but not durable enough to take a lot of damage. There are several characters in the MCU that are in the same category as Wanda, either godlike beings or glass cannons, but there are also plenty of characters lucky to even be part of the team.

10 On Her Level: The Powerful Witch Agatha Harkness (At Least She Was)

agatha harkness - wanda maximoff

Agatha Harkness is a powerful witch that has been around in the MCU for hundreds of years but was only just recently introduced in WandaVision. She pulled off some incredibly powerful feats throughout the series, such as manifesting Pietro, briefly imprisoning Wanda and her children, and remaining immune to Wanda's influence while within the Hex.

However, by the end of the finale, it appears as though Wanda had absorbed a great deal of Agatha's magic. She also left Agatha trapped in her role of "nosy neighbor" in Westview before flying off to a remote location to study. Considering Agatha has been absorbing magic for centuries, she will likely find a way to regain her power and return to the MCU.

9 Nowhere Close: Without Powers, Hawkeye Is Lucky To Be Around

Hawkeye saving the child in Age of Ultron

Hawkeye continues to prove his worth as an Avenger despite being just an ordinary human with exceptional aim. However, while he is a great hero, he is useless when compared to Wanda. Additionally, if it wasn't for Wanda's brother, Pietro, Hawkeye would have been killed by Ultron.

Unfortunately, Pietro died in the process of saving Hawkeye, despite having super speed. Pietro's death inspired a surge of power in Wanda allowing her to disintegrate all of the Ultron Sentries in her vicinity while Hawkeye barely made it back to the escape vessel to lie down.

8 On Her Level: Captain Marvel, A Fellow Hero Powered By An Infinity Stone

Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel movie poster from the MCU

Captain Marvel is an absolute powerhouse who was able to take on Thanos one-on-one during the final battle in Endgame when the Mad Titan had all six of the Infinity Stones. She didn't even flinch when he attempted to headbutt her. It took the full might of the Power Stone to get her off of him.

Not only did she more than handle herself against Thanos, as Wanda did, but she is also imbued with awesome powers from an Infinity Stone like Wanda as well. Captain Marvel is powerful enough to take on Thanos and durable enough to fly through massive space crafts without a single scratch, placing her in the top tier of heroes.

7 Nowhere Close: Ant-Man & The Wasp Are Great Heroes, But Mostly Because Of Their Suits

Ant-Man and the Wasp during the events of their film

While fans were skeptical of Ant-Man's introduction back in 2015, he has since become a fan-favorite hero, and so has his partner, the Wasp. They are both good heroes with solid fighting skills and problem-solving abilities, though their powerful suits are their biggest assets— especially Hope's.

Without the suit, or even when it's malfunctioning, Scott is a fraction of the hero he normally is as Ant-Man. Hope can hold her own in a fight, but her suit has wings and blasters which have come in handy on many occasions. Without the suits, they are simply two fairly well-trained normal people with no powers.

6 On Her Level: Thor Odinson, The God Of Thunder

Thor using his lightning powers in the MCU

Thor has been a powerful deity for centuries and despite losing his family, his home, and his beloved Mjolnir, he continues to grow stronger. He too was one of the few characters to actually hold their own against Thanos. Thor even almost killed him but unfortunately, he didn't aim for Thanos' head.

Thor's list of feats is almost endless and includes moments like destroying the Rainbow Bridge with brute strength, defeating the Fire Demon Surtur, and taking the full force of a neutron star at close range. Fans are excited to see what the God of Thunder pulls off next in his upcoming fourth solo film.

5 Nowhere Close: Peter Parker Is Much More Durable, But Not Nearly As Powerful

Peter panicking at the end of Far From Home

Everyone loves their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, and while he is an incredibly strong and durable teenager, he's got nothing on Wanda's level of power. In a fistfight, Peter would win no problem. However, using magic, Wanda was able to subdue Thanos, so handling a 16-year-old should be a cakewalk for her.

Despite being significantly outclassed by the likes of the Scarlet Witch, Peter manages some impressive feats of strength, durability, and agility. He also appears to have an enhanced healing factor like Cap. However, Peter won't catch up to Wanda unless Dr. Strange can teach him some spells in Dr. Strange 2 and/or No Way Home.

4 On Her Level: Dr. Stephen Strange, The Current Sorcerer Supreme

Dr. Strange wielding the Eye of Agamotto to manipulate time with the Time Stone within

Agatha Harkness tells Wanda that as the Scarlet Witch she is supposed to be even more powerful than the Sorcerer Supreme, who is currently Dr. Stephen Strange. Dr. Strange rose through the ranks of Kamar-Taj at a much faster rate than most and quickly developed an understanding and mastery over the Time Stone.

Even without the Time Stone, Strange is an incredibly powerful sorcerer capable of unimaginable spells, incantations, and magical shenanigans. With recent rumors suggesting that Wanda will be positioned as a villain in some capacity in the Dr. Strange sequel, fans may get to see firsthand which of them is the more powerful.

3 Nowhere Close: Iron Man, The Father Of The MCU, Was Only As Powerful As His Armor

Iron Man's suit & Tony Stark's Snap in Endgame

Tony Stark was one of the most beloved characters in the entire MCU. Despite constantly upgrading his Iron Man armors, they would have been no match for Wanda's raw potential. While Thanos was wearing simple armor when Wanda picked it off piece by piece, she wouldn't have much trouble ripping away Tony's suit either.

While Tony has proven that he can be a hero without the suit— mostly showcased during Iron Man 3 he can't do true hero work without it. Without the suit he never would have been able to pull off the Snap and simply holding all six Infinity Stones would have killed him instantly. Wanda, on the other hand, rather than dying, had her powers significantly enhanced when she was exposed to one of the Stones.

2 On Her Level: Her One True Love, The Vision

MCU Vision

Before dying at the hands of Thanos, a fully functional Vision was powerful enough to give any villain (or hero) a significant challenge. With his ability to phase through objects, alter his density from black hole-dense to ethereal, and shoot a beam from the Mind Stone, Vision was an incredibly powerful asset to the Avengers.

He also had super strength, super speed, super durability (due to his Vibranium body), and super endurance from being a Synthezoid. While he was subdued by Wanda's powers in Civil War, he was also holding back a bit to avoid hurting her, and she can essentially communicate with the Mind Stone itself, which is a wildly unfair advantage.

1 Nowhere Close: Thanos Sacrificed His Own Troops Just To Escape Wanda

Wanda (Scarlet Witch) vs Thanos during the final battle in Endgame

Thanos may have been the overarching Big Bad for the better part of the Infinity Saga, but when push came to shove, he couldn't do anything against a furious Wanda in Endgame. She struggled at first before completely turning the tables on him and destroying his weapon.

It looked like the end for Thanos as Wanda slowly lifted him higher while removing his armor piece by piece. However, he took the coward's way out and ordered his ship to rain fire on the battlefield, not caring who was killed on either side. If Captain Marvel had arrived maybe 30 seconds earlier, she and Wanda easily could have ended the fight in an instant.
