Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans may finally get their wish, as a new rumor suggests that Chloe Bennet's Daisy Johnson / Quake will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The rumor comes from the MyTimeToShineHello Twitter account, which previously scooped several Spider-Man: No Way Home plot points and spoilers. When asked by a user about Bennet's future as Quake, the scooper responded, "She's coming."

Bennet was a series regular on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for all seven of its seasons. Initially introduced as the computer hacker Skye, it is eventually revealed that she is an Inhuman who is able to manipulate vibrations and create earthquakes. Her comic book counterpart was created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Gabriele Dell'Otto, and debuted in Secret War #2 (July 2004).

A fan-favorite character, viewers of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have been hoping that Bennet would return to the role for a future MCU project. A recent meet-up with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu added fuel to the fire, but nothing substantial had been reported until now.

Created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiered on ABC in September 2013 and wrapped its run in August 2020. While the first few seasons of the show were clearly connected to the MCU—featuring guest apperences by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) and Sif (Jaimie Alexander), and heavily referencing the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier—later seasons' events called its place in the timeline into question. So far, no characters from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have crossed over with MCU movies or Disney+ TV series.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was produced by Marvel Television, a separate entity from Kevin Feige's Marvel Studios, which is why it had so little to do with the MCU. Run by Jeph Loeb, Marvel Television produced several series for various networks, including ABC's Agent Carter and Inhumans, FX's Legion, Fox's The Gifted, Hulu's Runaways, Helstrom, M.O.D.O.K. and Hit-Monkey, Freeforms Cloak & Dagger and Netflix's Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher. In October 2019, Feige was promoted to Marvel Entertainment Chief Creative Officer and Marvel Television was folded under Marvel Studio, giving Feige control over all Marvel TV series. Loeb left the company later that year, having been planning his exit before Feige's promotion.
