Tony Stark had a life that most people dream of having. He was a billionaire genius that could do whatever he wanted in life. While Tony had the resources to live a selfish life, as he got older he left those desires behind. After being kidnapped in Afghanistan, Tony created a mechanical suit to escape. He later created several more suits to continue to fight terrorists, and thus he became Iron Man.

In his new hero role, several people wanted to use his intelligence to facilitate their own agendas. While it might be exhausting, Tony was used to people coveting his inventions. Naturally, Tony didn’t allow the government to strong arm him into handing over his inventions. S.H.E.I.L.D. also recruited Tony for the Avengers Initiative, as a member he saved the world from destruction countless times.

While many of Tony's peers were jealous of him, the majority of young adults in his world look up to him. In Captain America Civil War Tony is seen giving a speech to MIT students. Young technology enthusiasts who of course jumped at the chance to learn from Tony Stark.

While there, Tony encouraged students to reshape the future and ended his speech by making all of them equal recipients of the Inaugural Foundation Grant, approving the students' projects and funding them. Additionally, Tony operated as Peter Parker’s mentor. Peter looked up to Tony, and he still tries to make him proud, even after his death

8 Tony Was An Incredible Inventor

Much like his father, Tony was a remarkable inventor. The Arc Reactor he built in a cave helped him escape from the terrorists that were holding him hostage. He also built a smaller Arc Reactor for his chest.

This Arc Reactor kept the shrapnel that entered his body from his accident in Afghanistan, from reaching his heart. Additionally, Tony created several A.I. entities including J.A.R.V.IS., E.D.I.T.H., and Peter Parker’s newest Spider-Man suit.

When Tony was first recruited by S.H.E.I.L.D. to stop Loki, he was able to contribute his thoughts on Loki's need for a high power source during their first meeting.

When Maria Hill asked Tony when he became an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics, Tony responded “last night.” For Tony understanding thermonuclear astrophysics was light reading. This is one of many examples of Tony's genius intellect. 

6 Tony Was Easy On The Eyes

Tony's looks helped him become the playboy that he was. While it was common for tech geniuses to eventually become wealthy from their inventions' success, it’s rare that they are also incredibly handsome, charming, and funny.

Tony was all of those things, he was truly the whole package. Even Pepper Potts eventually falls for his charm. Though Tony had his fair share of romantic flings, Pepper was his true love.

5 Tony Had A Solid Group Of Loved Ones

It took some time to warm up to Tony, but he was a genuine person that wanted to better himself and the world around him. As a result, Tony had a solid group of friends. James “Rhodey” Rhodes was Tony’s best friend and superhero partner, War Machine.

Additionally, Tony had Steve Rogers who genuinely considered Tony a friend and wasn't afraid to tell him when he missed him. Happy Hogan was his personal assistant and close friend, and Pepper Potts was the love of his life. Aside from these intimate relationships, Tony’s Avenger comrades also loved and respected him. Everyone was affected by his death.

4 Tony Was A Legacy Kid

Tony not only inherited his father’s wealth, but he inherited his legacy. Howard Stark was a brilliant inventor and Tony definitely took after his father. Stark Industries is a tech company that was founded by Howard Stark in 1939. Tony took over as Stark Industries' CEO after his father’s death.

Howard worked with the government and military personnel to help them during World War II. He also worked on Project Rebirth which made the Super Soldier Serum that created Captain America. While Howard collaborated on several famous and successful projects, his most famous invention is Captain America’s shield. Though Tony had big shoes to fill, he absolutely lived up to the fame of his last name.

3 Tony Was A Billionaire

Tony was one of the wealthiest superheroes in the MCU. As a self proclaimed “genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist,” Tony enjoyed the fruits of his and his father’s labor. His wealth allowed him to build a customized mansion in Malibu that was A.I. operated, own several vehicles, and own planes.

Tony’s wealth was not only beneficial for him, but it helped the Avengers as well. The Avengers Compound was an old Stark Industries warehouse that Tony renovated. The Avengers were able to discuss new missions and train new recruits there.

2 Tony Was An Avenger

The Avengers Initiative wasn’t complete without Tony. Tony tried to ignore S.H.E.I.L.D., causing Agent Phil Coulson to approach Tony at his home. With Pepper’s encouragement, Tony agreed to see this new mission through.

When everyone was finally together, things got off to a rocky start. Steve Rogers and Tony challenged each other immediately. Eventually the team learned to work together and one of Tony’s first acts as an Avenger was attempting to sacrifice his life to save the world from an alien invasion.

1 Tony Stark Will Always Be Iron Man

In the final scene of his first film, Tony holds a press conference where he publicly announces “I am Iron Man.” Typically superheroes choose to have a secret identity, but Tony was no stranger to attention and fame. Unlike Peter Parker’s plight in No Way Home, Tony adapted well after he revealed his identity.

His Iron Man suits prevented warfare and the public supported him. Though Tony made some mistakes along the way, the world never stopped needing him. In his last act as Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame, he sacrificed himself to undo Thanos’ genocide. Before snapping his fingers and giving his life, he repeated his famous words again “I am Iron Man.”
