One of the most eagerly anticipated additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been the cosmic superhero Nova, the Human Rocket, and one talented fan as created stunning art of how the hero could make his live-action debut.
Artist Okera Damani has shared a piece showing Jesse Alexander, father of current Nova and member of the Champions Sam Alexander, powered up while standing over the bodies of his fallen comrades. The rest of the Nova Corps was presumably decimated by Thanos and the Black Order shortly before the events of Avengers: Infinity War to retrieve the Power Stone on Xandar. Damani shared the digital art on their ArtStation profile complete with a full behind-the-scenes process on how the piece was created. The final piece is below:
While the Nova Corps of which the intergalactic superhero is a member of, debuted in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, the peacekeeping force were depicted as a largely unpowered force relying on advanced technology to maintain order throughout the galaxy. By the film's end, they keep the Infinity Stone of Power under their protection in their headquarters on Xandar.
In the opening to Infinity War, Thanos has already recovered the Power Stone with Thor mentioning in a passing line of dialogue later in the film that the planet suffered as devastating attack as part of the villain's plot to obtain all six Infinity Stones in order to wipe out half of all life in the universe.
