With Avengers: Endgame having arrived and wrapped up many storylines that the MCU has been building to for the past 10 or so years, there are now a lot of questions about what the MCU will look like going forward. With Iron Man gone, there is a lot of space to focus on new characters and their stories. Since three of the original six Avengers are mostly out of the picture now, fans are wondering which films and stories the MCU will focus on moving forward.

Here are the prequels, midquels, and sequels that Marvel needs to do after Endgame.

10 10. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY SEQUEL

A Guardians of the Galaxy 2 sequel is basically guaranteed at this point, even if it make not be coming out for a while. The film is going to be released in 2020 at this point. While most of the movies on this list are ones that haven’t been confirmed, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is included because this story might be a lot different than fans originally expected. Given the ending of Endgame, the Guardians movie is likely to feature Thor as well as the Guardians.

9 9. ANT-MAN AND THE WASP SEQUEL

Ant-Man and the Wasp is a Marvel movie that is more in the humor category and less serious, and this makes it a good palate cleanser from the more intense movies. At the same time, however, this movie also set up a lot of important things for Endgame. Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne are both likable characters, and seeing more of them in their own sequel would be a good choice. This would allow for some more fun and comedy in between some of the more serious films in the MCU future.

8 8. WAR MACHINE PREQUEL

While there was once the possibility of a War Machine movie, it didn’t end up happening. However, this doesn't mean this option has to be off the table forever. With Disney+, the MCU is able to expand into a lot of new territories and explore side characters that didn’t get a movie.

There is definitely space for a movie about War Machine and his past, and this series could feature cameos from other characters like Tony or Pepper.

7 7. VALKYRIE PREQUEL

Valkyrie

Valkyrie is a character that fans have latched onto quickly. While she wasn’t in Endgame all that much, she is being set up to show up in future MCU films as the King of Asgard. While we definitely want to see her in future films, getting more about her backstory would also be interesting.

Whether a movie or a limited-run television series, more of Valkyrie and all of the other Valkyries would be welcome. Alternately, she could feature somehow in the Loki series that is coming up.

6 6. CAPTAIN AMERICA PREQUEL

This isn’t very likely to happen at this point. However, the Russo brothers have suggested that Chris Evans isn’t done in the MCU for good. It’s most likely that Steve Rogers will show up in some way in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series. However, since Captain America: Civil War was more of an Avengers movie, it seems like Steve never got a movie that really explored all of his own traumas. While this is not likely to happen, a movie that establishes more of the Peggy/Steve relationship would make sense seeing as the ending in Endgame came a little out of nowhere.

5 5. SHURI/WAKANDA MIDQUEL

While Black Panther 2 has already been confirmed with Ryan Coogler at the helm, this doesn't mean that film has to be the only MCU property set in Wakanda. The women of Wakanda are some of the best characters in the MCU who have been added recently, and we would love to see more of them. A Shuri or women of Wakanda mini-series would be exciting and worth exploring on Disney.

4 4. BLACK WIDOW PREQUEL

This is another movie on the list that is happening. This movie seems to finally be in production although there isn’t an official release date yet. While this movie isn’t speculation, it’s worth putting on this list because it’s about time it finally happens.

Black Widow was one of the only female characters in the MCU for a long time, and she was one of the original Avengers. She definitely deserves more than she's been given in the MCU, and we can’t wait to see this solo movie.

3 3. CAPTAIN MARVEL MIDQUEL

Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel is being set up as one of the most important heroes in the MCU going forward now that the likes of Captain America and Iron Man are mostly done. Her first movie was set in the 90s, and it would make a lot of sense to have another midquel/sequel that occurs before Endgame.

We definitely need to learn more of her story and what she has been doing in between the events of Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame.

2 2. THOR: RAGNAROK SEQUEL

Thor Ragnarok Loki

Thor: Ragnarok might have been the final movie in the Thor trilogy, but this doesn't mean there isn’t room for another. Fans loved this film and the group of heroes it put together. Many fans would love to see a sequel that features the Revengers. While it seems like Endgame put Thor with the Guardians instead, fans still have hope for more Thor directed by Taika Waititi.

1 1. AVENGERS SEQUEL

While the original six Avengers will never be reunited in a sequel again, at least most likely, this doesn't mean there won't be another Avengers movie. The remaining original Avengers like Thor and Hulk could team up in the future with new faces like Black Panther and Captain Marvel. There will definitely be more ensemble movies in the future, so fans will just wait to see which characters are included.
