For as fantastic as most of the MCU's movies have been, they aren't perfect. A few rare movies have been duds, and a few characters have felt like they were wasted or didn't reach their true potential. An example of the latter is The Mandarin, whose portrayal was such a misstep they had to redo him in another movie.

It's mostly villains who get the short end of the stick. Either they are made far too generic or don't get nearly enough screen time in their roles before they die. Whatever the reason, they deserve the chance to get a redo in the same way that The Mandarin is getting one in Shang-Chi.

10 Crossbones Deserves More Screen Time As Crossbones Rather Than Brock Rumlow

Birth of Crossbones

Unlike other misused characters, Brock Rumlow got plenty of screen time, was used fairly well, and was excellently cast. The issue with the character is that most of the time is spent with Brock Rumlow rather than Crossbones. To make matters worse, the moment Rumlow finally becomes Crossbones, he dies about 15 minutes later.

It's a waste of a character who is a huge part of Captain America's mythos. Heck, he helps kill Steve, for Pete's sake. It'd be great for Marvel to bring him back again through the multiverse with a more prominent role.

9 Laufey & The Frost Giants Deserve A Movie Where They Are The Primary Villains

Laufey

The entire mythos of Thor deserves a redo, even if it's unlikely now that Asgard's been destroyed. There's so much potential in exploring the Nine Realms that surround Thor's lore. Laufey and the Frost Giants are an excellent example. They get a little screen time in the first act and a half of Thor before they are reduced to patsies so Loki can be the primary villain of the movie.

That's fine since it fits Loki's character, but it'd be nice to see Laufey return at some point, maybe doing a War of the Realms type of movie with Valkyrie or Lady Thor.

8 Lady Sif Deserves To Be Brought Into The Spotlight

Jamie Alexander as Lady Sif in the MCU's Thor films

As with Crossbones, Lady Sif is a character that doesn't need recasting. Jamie Alexander is a fine choice for the role. What the character needs is actual focus instead of the MCU treating her like a side character.

Few in Asgard can match her combat prowess, yet she never gets treated like the fearsome warrior she is. The hope is that she'll get to shine in the upcoming Love and Thunder film that seems made to transition Jane Foster into Thor. A role where she helps mentor Jane would be fitting.

7 Betty Ross Should Be Brought Back As A Love Interest To Bruce

Only one of the people from the image above got brought back, and it was Thunderbolt Ross. Betty's exclusion likely has more to do with the murkiness of a Hulk movie, both in terms of who owns the rights and how profitable it would be, but it's illogical to bring back Thunderbolt and not his daughter.

With She-Hulk coming to Disney+, it seems a perfect time to reboot the character and bring her back into the MCU. Bruce needs someone to help give him onscreen character development in the worst way.

Samuel Sterns Leader marvel comics

The character of Leader seems to have the worst luck when it comes to Hulk movies. He's always teased as a future movie's villain. That's what happens in both the MCU's Incredible Hulk and Ang Lee's Hulk. It's never come to fruition, and it's time he got the opportunity.

She-Hulk should be used to hint at him and maybe lead to an Intelligencia storyline in an Avengers movie after Kang gets dealt with. A movie with him and Modok as the primary villains could be fun.

5 Malekith Should Be Brought Back For A War Of The Realms Storyline

Malekith Fights Thor And Black Panther

As mentioned with Laufey, a War of the Realms-inspired movie would be amazing. It'd help branch out Thor's Mythos and give a good storyline to launch Jane Foster's Thor. Just like in the comics, Malekith is the perfect person to stir up trouble and bring about the war.

It'd also let them show a more mischievous and demented Malekith than the dull interpretation that showed up in Dark World. Of all the villains who need a reboot, he needs it most.

4 Ultron Is Easy To Bring Back & Deserves A Better Movie Than Age Of Ultron

Ultron flying in Avengers Age of Ultron

Ultron is one of the biggest threats to the Marvel universe and always a thorn in the Avengers' sides. While James Spader gave a decent performance as the character, the movie it was housed in was lackluster. Age of Ultron feels disconnected from everything else in the Marvel universe, which is odd since it's an Avengers film.

He deserves a reboot where he can make the impact he deserves on the MCU. Showing hints of him in Armor Wars or Ironheart would be a good start.

3 Scorpion Was Hinted At In Homecoming & Has Yet To Make Another Appearance

Mac Gargan talking to Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming

Michael Mando could be an incredible choice in casting for someone like Scorpion, but it seems like his inclusion in Homecoming was nothing more than a fun nod to the character.

He doesn't make an appearance in Far From Home, and with the multiverse being the central theme of many Marvel films going forward, it doesn't look like he will appear in the third film. The question is, when will the eternally teased Sinister Six movie arrive?

2 Skurge Deserves To Have A Proper Story Arc That Isn't Rushed Through

Skurge holding m16s Thor Ragnarok

The use of Skurge in Thor Ragnarok fit the character fine, and Karl Urban was a fine choice in actor, but it undercut how important his sacrifice was. There wasn't enough build-up with the character to make anyone care when he decided to make his stand against Hela's army to protect Asgard's people.

It's that his redemption that deserves a redo more than the character does. It's a moment in Thor's comics that felt important and brought development to other characters, unlike what happened in Ragnarok.

1 The Real Taskmaster Needs An Opportunity To Join The MCU

Taskmaster MCU Comics

Admittedly, the movie hints that the real Taskmaster will make an appearance later on, which is good, but that doesn't change how lackluster the Taskmaster in Black Widow was.

The entire storyline with the Red Room felt unnecessarily muddled, and while it makes sense to tie Taskmaster into the Widow's backstory, it doesn't land when it's a character no one else knows about. It doesn't help that most of the movie Taskmaster is just an emotionless blob of a character.
