The Marvel Cinematic Universe has brought multiple phases of amazing films, but none have been more successful and widely acclaimed than its crossover events. From Avengers: Infinity War to Captain America 3: Civil War, the more heroes the merrier.

Despite the recent success of the many crossovers, there are still so many more great options in Marvel's gigantic library. With the ownership of practically all of Marvel's intellectual properties, it is a golden age for the MCU to expand even further once Phase 4 ends in 2022. Here are 10 crossovers from Marvel's multiple properties that transcend genre, as well as style.

10 Marvels

Marvels was one of the more abstract stories written by the company, as it explored the history of the Marvel Universe from the photography and perspective of everyman Phil Sheldon. The story covers major events from the Marvel timeline, starting with the original Human Torch and Namor the Submariner. It then features great moments tied in with his own life, Captain America in WW2, the beginning of the Fantastic Four, the intensity of mutant hatred, and the mistruth of the media led by J Jonah Jameson.

In this, it's not a true superhero movie, but a 'living in a superhero world' movie. Without a superhero at the helm, but a simple family man and photographer trying to understand and capture these magnificent moments, Marvels could be a great crossover from the most unlikely perspective.

9 DoomWar

What excited many comic fans over the acquisition of Fox was the integration of classic villains, like Magneto and Dr. Doom, into the MCU. Dr. Doom has been most famously known as the greatest foe of the Fantastic Four, and he has even invaded other countries for Latveria. Enter DoomWar, the mini-crossover when Dr. Doom invaded Wakanda for Vibranium and succeeded.

The potential plot of Black Panther 3, the concept has a lot of promise by plunging Wakanda into chaos and ousting Black Panther and his cohorts from the country. The comic arc has them set up a counterinsurgency and re-take the nation. This political thriller for Wakanda could be another great look into the Afro-futuristic world with deeper themes, particularly of African unity over European colonialism.

8 Siege

When Asgard breaks through and hovers over an Oklahoman town, Earth's Mightiest Heroes are put in an awkward situation. Only it's not the Avengers in charge of Earth's defense, but an evil version of them led by Norman Osborn in his own Iron Man suit.

This story could be easily adaptable for the MCU with a sudden appearance of Hela and parts of Asgard breaking through the Bifrost, despite their supposed demise during Thor: Ragnarok. With Christopher Hemsworth still around and a Loki TV series bringing the Trickster God back, the potential for this arc could be tremendous with Evil Asgard, Evil Avengers, and Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy primed in an epic clash.

7 Enter Galactus

The entry of Galactus and his heralds was one of the most powerful moments in Marvel history. Unfortunately, it was done so poorly in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer that the Fantastic Four never hit the big screen for another decade, which they also managed to bomb.

With good producers in charge of the premier hero group by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, this arc can finally get the justice it deserves. Galactus is a giant god capable of devouring planets, and it will take the Earth's greatest heroes to unite and stop him and his powerful heralds.

6 Secret Invasion

The Skrulls were introduced in Captain Marvel, and even had a nice appearance in Spiderman: Far From Home, but their invasion of Earth would paint an amazing storyline in the MCU.

How amazing would it be to see various heroes fighting their Skrull doppelgängers? With Earth's mightiest heroes paranoid about the possibility of their friends and loved ones being Skrulls, it would add an amazing suspicious element that hasn't been seen in the MCU since Captain America: Winter Soldier.

5 Marvel Zombies

Marvel Zombies

Perhaps one of the most random adaptations of Marvel superheroes, Marvel Zombies could turn the MCU on its head and introduce a whole new horror element to the world. What if a zombie virus hit the MCU? Who would succumb first? And who would survive such an apocalypse?

This could easily reach Avengers: Infinity War/End Game levels and be an intriguing way to end a phase in the future. The possibilities are endless too, with Avenger Zombies eating X-Men Zombies. Just imagine, the Blob or Giant Ant-Man getting eaten by a group of zombies.

4 House of M

X-Men House of M

When the Scarlet Witch has a meltdown, her abilities to hex reality break through in this absolutely classic crossover. Creating a world where mutants are the dominant species, House of M would be a great launching point for the X-Men in the MCU.

With Wandavision creating more story for Scarlet Witch and the (as of yet) unresolved grief over the death of Quicksilver, this could be a great chance to combine those two concepts, while bringing Magneto and an amazing alternate reality concept into the MCU, as well.

3 Secret Wars

Secret Wars II feature

A true favorite of classic comic fans, Secret Wars has been on the radar for the Russo Brothers and Feige for some time. A legendary event that gathers the greatest heroes on Earth and pits them against the greatest villains, Secret Wars was the start of the end for Professor Hulk, gave Spider-Man the Venom symbiote, and had Dr. Doom give the Thing the ability to be human again.

After establishing the Fantastic Four, this could also bring back Iron Man and Cap for a one time deal using cosmic time powers, giving them one last hurrah on the silver screen.

2 Marvel: 1602

What would be more fascinating than a film based on Neil Gaiman's 1602 series? Imagine a steampunk Ironman, a Native American Cap, a gallant olde English Hulk, and a Christian friar who can become the Mighty Thor.

1602 brings a cosmic event and an Elizabethan spin to the Marvel Universe which could easily be digested by fantasy and comic fans. With the Spanish Inquisition led by Magento, Queen Elizabeth's spymaster in Nick Fury, and a blind bard as Daredevil, the sky is the limit for this immensely creative adaptation of Marvel's amazing world.

1 DC Vs Marvel / Marvel Comics Vs DC

What better way to end this list than with the ultimate "what if" of them all? The 90s featured a temporary truce between the two comic giants in the DC vs Marvel crossover clash. With the greatest stars of the 90s, a modern reinterpretation now could feature even greater heroes and villains.

Lobo, for example, has seen the end of his popularity. However, many heroes could be put in, like Black Panther and Ant-Man. While such an epic film would most likely be impossible to make, it would easily grab fans of both universes to see the ultimate duel between both. Captain America or Batman? Superman or the Hulk? This movie would answer it all.
