Loki Laufeyson, played by Tom Hiddleston, is probably the most lovable villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His character started as the petulant little brother of Thor Odinson, played by Chris Hemsworth, who seeks the throne of Asgard until Thor became “worthy” of the Mjolnir, his mighty hammer, and was proclaimed the ruler of Asgard.

Loki’s character may be confusing at times, swinging from mischievous to adorable and back to being delinquent. No matter what personality Loki shows the audience, one thing’s for sure: everyone loves his witty one-liners, too-smart-for-you jokes and weird antics only solid Loki fans can appreciate!

10 Locked Up In His Cell

Loki in his pajamas and worn-out shirt locked up in a cell is the most pitiful thing you’ll ever see until you know it’s just one of his annoying tricks to deceive his gullible brother, Thor. Seeing the God of Mischief look ten times worse than his Jotunheim ancestors definitely elicited a chuckle or two from the audience.

The young prince is always seen in his olive green and gold embellished ensemble and his perfectly combed hair, and they only ruined his godly appearance by making him wear peasant’s clothes.

9 Wore BDSM Gears

We know Loki is a master of bargain—he can get anything he wants by just talking his way out through it. We also know he will never shut up so they made a gear that could literally hold his tongue and keep him quiet.

Some fans compare this mask to a toy used in BDSM activities. Without going into graphic details, this gear is used by a submissive. Are we going to assume that Loki, a powerful god from Asgard, could ever bow down to anyone? No, not even to the Avengers.

8 Listened To Thor

In the Avengers, Thor was persuading Loki to give up his poisonous dreams and evil plans. He asked him to come home to Asgard and make peace with their father. Just as Thor told Loki to listen, he was snatched by Iron Man and brought to an empty field. Loki, still a bit taken aback, said, “I’m listening.”

Loki has a sense of humor that is too smart for us to appreciate. This dry humor style is only fitting for his character since Loki is always seen as the mischievous and vindictive brother.

7 Imitated Captain America

This iconic scene of Loki trying to imitate Captain America and turning Thor into Lady Sif proved our assumptions wrong and made us believe that he’s got a sense of humor despite being an antagonist for several films.

He may be the most likable villain of all Marvel antagonists and this scene just made him a million times adorable. The fact that he’s annoying Thor like siblings teasing each other by shifting into different people shows us that deep down, Loki has still got that familial love for his brother.

6 Called Black Widow A Mewling Quim

Remember this scene from the first Avengers movie? Loki hit the glass container and called Natasha a mewling quim! We’re not sure how this word got through Disney’s parental guidance filter. He could have used a more appropriate metaphor for a whining woman but he chose to go with this phrase.

Still, it’s fitting for his character to use such vulgar descriptions given his current situation. Loki is a walking dictionary—he’s got an arm full of flowery words that he can use to insult, persuade or swindle his enemies.

5 Cornered By The Avengers In Stark Tower

At the end of the Avengers movie, everyone drew their weapons and cornered Loki. Hawkeye pointed his arrow at him, while Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain America, Thor and Hulk stood behind him, just in case Loki tries to escape or cause any more trouble.

That moment was so hilarious because Loki was just right there sitting on the floor, eyes wide and looking helpless like a caught thief and everyone had to strike a pose in front of him as if to tell him he has got nowhere to go.

4 Fell For 30 Minutes

When Doctor Strange opened a portal in New York, he was able to transport Loki to his domicile in a few seconds. Then, a dizzy and disoriented Loki falls to the ground and said, “I’ve been falling for 30 minutes!”

Seriously, it is no fun when you have been descending to death for half an hour! With nothing to hold on to and no idea if there’s something at the bottom to catch you, Loki must have been really pissed off for a fact that he can actually teleport himself on his own.

3 Got Slammed By Hulk

Puny god—two words to describe this whole banging scene. Loki was making a speech and Hulk, as temperamental as he can get, grabbed Loki by his leg and slammed his beautiful face repeatedly across the pavement until it cracks.

Surprisingly, he’s still alive and wincing! Any human slammed that hard would have already died of heart attack. But Loki is still making a squeaky high note which is probably caused by shock. We get that Loki isn’t as physically strong as Thor but he is still a god. Yet, he got squashed by an angry green man.

2 Tried The Scepter On Tony

Loki attempting to turn Iron Man with his scepter in the Avengers movie

When Loki went face-to-face with Tony Stark, he attempted to use the scepter on him and aimed at his arc reactor. The scepter, when used on people, puts them under a spell and turns them into his slaves. Now the scepter failed to work on Tony and to his disappointment, Loki uttered, “This usually works.”

Perhaps it was because the scepter only works when it is directly in contact with the heart. In Tony’s case, he has the arc reactor to power his heart and because it is made of vibranium, the magic would definitely not work.

1 Cheered As Hulk Smashes Thor

Loki and The Grandmaster watch over the area in Thor: Ragnarok

Ah, the bittersweet feeling of seeing someone experience the same agony! The moment Loki saw the Incredible Hulk come out of the cage to fight Thor in the arena, he scrambled to his feet wanting to get out. He was then stopped and forced to sit through the entire battle.

Halfway through the clash, Hulk grabbed Thor and slammed his body on the pavement, just as he did with Loki in the first Avengers movie. In that moment, Loki stood up in excitement and cheered, while shouting, “Yes! That’s how it feels!”
