WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Loki, Episode 2, "The Variant," streaming now on Disney+.

At the end of Loki's second episode, the series introduced Lady Loki, a female variant of the titular God of Mischief. However, as the show is still early in its run, her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn't totally clear at this time. We have a theory, though, that Lady Loki may team up with Doctor Strange and Spider-Man at some point soon in the MCU's future.

Loki will seemingly link in some way to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, though just how isn't known at this time. That being said, because Doctor Strange is also set to play a role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the MCU's future is becoming much clearer. The Multiverse is sure to play a huge role in the future, and Loki has already set that up in some huge ways.

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, it's not totally clear just what shape the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will take. While there's a good indication the characters that Disney acquired from 21st Century Fox will soon arrive, there's not much solid information on just when or how that might happen. Right now, there are a lot of potential directions the MCU could go in the future, though exactly which one it will take remains to be seen.

Loki stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Lexus Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15 and Sophia Di Martino, Richard E. Grant, Sasha Lane and Eugene Cordero. New episodes air Wednesdays on Disney+.
