Prior to Infinity War, the Guardians of the Galaxy had not yet crossed paths with any of the Avengers. So when the God of Thunder was introduced to the band of misfits, audiences were excited to see the two fan favorite properties interact.

This meet up would eventually lead to Star-Lord's role in the upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder. It is also rumored that Thor will be joining the Guardians in their own third feature film.

9 Gamora & Star-Lord's Love Confession

Gamora tells Star Lord she loves him

Fans of the couple Star-Lord and Gamora were very pleased with this moving scene from the movie. The lovers had officially gotten together by the time of Infinity War, but this was the first time the pair had confessed their love for one another.

The scene is one of the more memorable moments of the MCU because of it's emotional tone and tear-jerking dialogue.

8 Steve's Iconic Entrance

Captain America's Infinity War Entrance

Captain America and his former Avengers allies had been on the run since Captain America: Civil War. Because of this, Steve Rogers had grown a beard to help hide his identity.

This was the first time audiences got to see his new look, and people went crazy. Social media blew up with posts regarding his new look, and his entrance is considered by many to be a highlight of the film.

7 Loki's Tragic Death

Loki is a character that is no stranger to death. Before Infinity War, Loki had two fake out deaths in the first and second Thor films. Only this time, he truly perished at Thanos' hands. He died a valiant death, one of honor.

For a character who was previously very devious, this was a nice change to see. While his death was extremely sad, it was also very poignant and showed audiences there were real stakes in this movie.

6 The Avengers/Guardians vs Thanos Fight

Doctor Strange fighting Thanos

The epic battle between Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, and the Guardians versus Thanos had audiences on the edge of their seats. Doctor Strange and Thanos' one on one was fantastic, and audiences were dazzled as they fought using their reality warping powers.

Iron-Man's standoff with Thanos was also incredible, showing how resilient and heroic Tony really is, especially for someone who technically lacks superpowers of any kind.

5 Thor Proves He Is One Of The Strongest Avengers

Thor holds open the gate of a star

Thor's mission during Infinity War was to find a weapon powerful enough to take out Thanos. He found that weapon in Stormbreaker, an axe capable of beheading Thanos. However, to forge Strombreaker, Thor had to hold open a cage around a star, using the energy of the star to power the forge.

Thor endured all the direct power of a star, and was able to forge his weapon successfully. This all but proves him to be one of the strongest and most powerful Avengers on the team today.

4 Thor's Amazing Entrance To The Battle

The battle of Wakanda was in full force, and the Avengers were taking big hits. All seems to be lost, until Thor teleports to the battlefield, Stormbreaker slashing through the enemies around Captain America and the Hulk.

Next to him stood his two new allies, Guardians of the Galaxy members Groot and Rocket. This moment had crowds cheering and roaring with satisfaction.

3 She's Not Alone

When Wanda Maximoff arrives on the battlefield, one of Thanos' agents is quick to single her out. She tells Wanda that she will die alone, but Black Widow speaks up from the background, letting her know she is not alone. Okoye is seen to be on the other side of Wanda, ready to attack.

This badass moment is so satisfying and memorable. People are still quoting this scene online today. Fans were very pleased to see three of the MCU's most prominent female characters kick ass together.

She is the only one who is strong enough to destroy an infinity stone, so the task is sadly left to her. Fans cried along with her as she slowly killed the man she loved. What makes it even worse is she did it all for nothing, as Thanos gains the mind stone anyways.
