YouTuber Fullybelly Edits has created a sizzle reel of all the most ominous, foreboding moments across each of the films, complete with a deliciously sinister instrumental soundtrack to set the mood. In this new context, even the most uplifting of the MCU films suddenly feels like an overarching, suspenseful story of the superheroes falling in the face of overwhelming odds.
Original Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness filmmaker Scott Derrickson previously claimed the upcoming sequel will lean more into horror than prior MCU films before his abrupt departure from the project at the beginning of the year. These claims of shifting to full-on horror were later downplayed by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, clarifying that the film was still a superhero movie, albeit with terrifying sequences.
While it is unclear how much of the intended horror direction for the planned film will remain under new director Sam Raimi, this new fan-made trailer provides a tantalizing look at how dark and twisted the MCU could become.
