When it comes to DCEU characters, Darkseid was always meant to be their version of Thanos. He was the big bad that a whole slew of movies would lead up to. Justice League was the first step in that direction, but with how muddled the film franchise is now, who knows if that will ever come to pass.

At least with Zack Snyder's cut of the film, Darkseid was actually seen in action during a flashback and a Knightmare sequence. It gave a significant look at how powerful he is when the Anti-Life Equation is in his hands. It made him easily the most powerful being in the DCEU, and very few MCU characters could stand toe to toe with him.

10 Beat: Captain America May Be A Super Soldier But He's Still A Human

Captain America running with his shield

In many ways, Captain America is the heart and soul of the Avengers movies. He's the one who always manages to rally the troops, alongside Iron Man, and always manages to punch above his weight class.

His brief showdown with Thanos before the portals opened up was one of the best parts about Endgame. It showed off Cap's never-say-die attitude perfectly. That said, that version of Thanos isn't in the same realm as Darkseid is. The New God does not toy with his food.

9 Lose To: Thanos Would Use The Power Of The Infinity Gauntlet To Gain The Upper Hand

Thanos lifts the Gauntlet in Avengers: Infinity War

Thanos, for all of his power, would eventually succumb to Darkseid if the two of them had a straight-up fight. The MCU version of the character didn't show off the same scientific genius as his comics counterpart, focusing more on physical combat.

What would tip the scales in Thanos' favor during the battle would be the Infinity Gauntlet. With that in his possession, there isn't a single character in the world that could stand up to him. It offers too many ways to deal with foes, even those as strong as Darkseid.

8 Beat: Hawkeye's Arrows Wouldn't Even Put A Dent In Darkseid

Hawkeye looks back and smiles

As with Captain America, Hawkeye suffers from the fact he's a human. With how powerful Darkseid is, a couple of arrows aren't going to do anything to get in his way.

Darkseid slaughtered hundreds of Amazons during his initial invasion, and it's fair to say they are quite a bit stronger than Hawkeye is. The battle would likely be over in a matter of seconds, Darkseid turning Clint to nothing more than dust in the wind, much like Thanos did to others during Infinity War.

7 Lose To: Scarlet Witch Can Warp The Reality Around Darkseid

Scarlet Witch using her powers in WandaVision.

Even before her television show revealed that she was the Scarlet Witch, Wanda had enough in her arsenal to at least make Darkseid take notice of her. With the power boost from the show, she's now on a level well above anyone else in the Avengers.

She now has access to Chaos Magic and, more importantly, the ability to manipulate reality itself. With all of that in her arsenal, a battle with the New God would be one where she'd be able to come out on top.

6 Beat: Drax Would Rush Headlong Into His Death

Dave Bautista as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy

Drax is the lovable oaf on the Guardians of the Galaxy. He's pretty proficient at physical combat, as shown in the first movie. However, he isn't the brightest star in the stratosphere, putting him at an instant disadvantage when fighting anyone above his power bracket.

Running headlong into someone like Darkseid without a second thought is a losing proposition. The New God would take him out before he had time to get out a single one-liner.

5 Lose To: Captain Marvel Was So Powerful That The MCU Had To Actively Keep Her Away From Thanos

Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel movie poster from the MCU

Captain Marvel is one of the most powerful beings in the MCU, one that had to be kept on the sidelines and hidden away from Thanos due to how strong she was.

In her Binary Mode, she's able to tank punches infused with the power stone and shrug off a headbutt from Thanos as if he were a gnat. Couple that with her ability to absorb and convert energy into the power cosmic, and she'd be a very interesting matchup for Darkseid. The battle would hinge on whether she could absorb his Omega Beams or not.

4 Beat: Falcon's Wings Wouldn't Save Him From Defeat

MCU's Falcon

The MCU has done a great job with Falcon's character, making him far more entertaining than in the comics. It starts with his wings and goes right along with the rest of the character. He's more than worthy of walking in Cap's footsteps. Those steps wouldn't end up helping in a battle with Darkseid.

If Cap stands no chance, neither would Falcon. His wings wouldn't save him from getting pummeled into oblivion or cleaved like a piece of meat.

3 Lose To: The TVA's Use Of Time Manipulation Would Give Them The Upper Hand

Loki & Sykvie face to face with the Time Keepers of the TVA

The TVA is a force unlike anything the MCU has seen before. Their ability to manipulate time and traverse through the multiverse is enough to give anyone trouble. They even managed to "kill" Loki at one point before it was revealed those that get purged from the Sacred Timeline don't actually get killed.

While a random mook in the TVA probably couldn't kill Darkseid, any of the named characters stand a chance. If they were actively collecting Infinity Stones, it stands to reason they'd take similar measures if Darkseid's trying to collect the Anti-Life Equation in the multiverse.

2 Beat: Loki's Magic Would Only Buy Him Time, But Not Victory

Loki and Sylvie in Lamentis-1 city

Loki was one of Marvel's more ambitious projects, and for the most part, they knocked it out of the park. It helped flesh out Loki's character and even gave him new powers by way of charming people, as Sylvie does.

Would any of that help him out in battle with Darkseid? Yes and no. His strengthened illusions would certainly buy him time, but the charms would fall on deaf ears. Eventually, Darkseid would find him and kill him as Thanos did.

1 Lose To: Alioth Isn't A Foe That Can Be Defeated By Standard Means

Alioth of the Void in Loki

Alioth is a trans-temporal entity that served He Who Remains, ensuring the end of the multiversal war. It's a creature so powerful that it stands to reason that it can't be harmed, much less killed.

Its ability to absorb any matter or energy makes it nearly impossible to deal with. At most, it can be put on a leash rather than defeated. As Darkseid relies on raw power instead, it stands to reason that the creature would force him to retreat.
