Spoilers for Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings are below.

Many fans were worried about Shang-Chi's MCU introduction, though after a wildly successful opening weekend it seems there was never a reason to worry at all. Shang-Chi has not only become an Avenger, but he has also joined the ranks of MCU characters that have far exceeded expectations in a similar fashion to Ant-Man, Black Panther, and Dr. Strange.

In addition to the titular hero, there were several other characters - both heroes and villains - introduced throughout the film that fans immediately fell in love with. While it's clear Shang-Chi has a massive future in the MCU, fans are hoping that some of the other colorful characters will come back.

10 Shang-Chi's Mystic Mother Of Ta Lo, Jiang Li

Tony Leung as Wenwu and Fala Chen as Jiang Li in Shang-Chi

While Shang-Chi's mother was only present in flashback sequences, she proved to be an important influence on the type of person Shang-Chi strived to become. She may reappear in future flashbacks of Ta Lo, perhaps explaining how the powers of her ancient homeland are acquired and taken away.

Without Li's ability to outmaneuver Wenwu and soften his heart, Shang-Chi would have never been born. It's a shame she was taken from Shang-Chi at such a young age, but the experiences afterward ultimately made him the man he is today.

9 Archery Master Guang Bo Of Ta Lo

Guang Bo from the Shang-Chi movie

While this character didn't have all that much screen time, he managed to make Katy a competent archer which was crucial to winning the final battle. Not only did he teach Katy, but his death gave her something specific to fight for; he also provided some key moments of comic relief.

It's too bad fans won't see more of Guang Bo in future Shang-Chi adventures, but hopefully, fans will return to Ta Lo. Perhaps there are other ancient and funny warriors capable of teaching Shang-Chi and Katy a thing or two.

8 Shang-Chi's Auntie & Sherpa To Ta Lo, Jiang Nan

Li's sister, Jiang Nan, introduces herself to Shang-Chi and Xialing as their aunt and proceeds to show them around the settlement of Ta Lo while regaling them with the history of their people. She is very welcoming and in addition to having Guang Bo teach Katy archery, she herself teaches Shang-Chi some interesting martial arts.

She taught him the same techniques his mother used against Wenwu when he came searching for Ta Lo so many years earlier. While it's assumed the Great Protector somehow imbued Shang-Chi with the powers of Ta Lo, it was Nan's (and his mother's) teachings that gave him a connection to those powers.

7 The Deadly & Dangerous Razor Fist Of The Ten Rings

Razor Fist doesn't have a whole lot of speaking lines, but he does prove to be a bit of a challenge for Shang-Chi during their fight on the bus. With Ulysses Klaue now dead in the MCU, fans wouldn't mind another morally ambiguous character with a high-tech prosthesis.

While Razor Fist lacks in the comedy department when compared to Klaue, he does have his moments. With the Ten Rings still seemingly fully operational, it's only a matter of time before Razor Fist makes another appearance.

6 The Hilarious Host Of The Underground Fight Scene, Jon Jon

When Shang-Chi ends up in an underground dark web fighting club, the host of the club, Jon Jon, makes a hilarious first impression. He starts out with Chinese but quickly switches to "ABC" for Katy's (and fans') benefit before showing her and Shang-Chi a YouTube video of the bus fight. He then walks them through the low-level fights which included fighters such as a Black Widow and an Extremis patient before pointing out the main stage which happened to have Wong vs Abomination aka Emil Blonsky.

After his introduction, he isn't seen much again, but considering the positive reception from fans, he will likely make another appearance. Now that his boss is the new leader of the Ten Rings and it's been confirmed that they will return, he's sure to be back as well.

5 Shang-Chi's Estranged & Somewhat Villainous Sister Xialing

Initially positioned as a villain of the film, Xialing quickly comes to her brother's aid when he is fighting a gaggle of ninjas on the scaffolding outside of her fight club. They also team up to take down their father and save the people of Ta Lo from the Soul Eaters and the Dweller-In-Darkness.

However, at the end of the film, she appears to be repositioned as a villain as she has taken control of the Ten Rings in her father's wake. While the organization has seen some immediate upgrades including an overabundance of street art and the integration of women into the ranks, it's unlikely that Xialing is creating a secret army of assassins for good.

4 Shang-Chi's Best Friend & Potential Future Love Interest, Katy

Katy and Shang-Chi from Legend of the Ten Rings

While many fans raised an eyebrow over the casting of Awkwafina for the Shang-Chi movie, she more than proved her worth as a hilarious (and later impressive) sidekick and best friend to the titular hero. Unlike many supporting female characters, she appeared to have her own struggles going on that she needed to overcome by the film's end.

This was a refreshing change of pace as it added significance to her character and her shared experiences with Shang-Chi have made them closer than ever. Not only was she an active and wildly important part of the battle in Ta Lo, but she was also welcomed into the Sanctum Sanctorum by Wong without a second thought.

3 Shang-Chi's Ancient Warrior King Father, Wenwu

While Wenwu was teased as the villain of the film, after his story was told fans sympathized with the former warrior king as he was simply a man acting out of anguish over the loss of his wife. He was a complex character that offered a lot of historical anecdotes which helped piece together Shang-Chi's life and other important events.

At one point Shang-Chi was committed to killing his father in order to stop him. However, after an intense fight and a brief heart-to-heart discussion, it appeared as though Shang-Chi received closure with his father, and an incredibly powerful family heirloom to boot. Wenwu also appeared to be at peace in his final moments, likely because he was finally being reunited with his beloved.

2 The Titular Hero Of The Franchise, Shang-Chi Himself

Shang-Chi's introduction into the MCU was nothing short of spectacular. He proved his worth as an Avenger with some phenomenal fighting skills and also provided fans with plenty of hearty laughs. While the mid-credits and end-credits scenes have set up big stories for Shang-Chi and his family, fans will have to wait some time for the next installment of the presumed trilogy.

The good news is that Shang-Chi will likely cameo in a few other properties before returning to another solo film. Considering certain MCU characters made cameos in his film, he could potentially show up in She-Hulk, Dr. Strange 2, and maybe even Quantumania assuming he and the Ant-Man squad are all still in San Francisco.

1 Trevor Slattery's No Longer Imaginary Friend, Morris From Ta Lo

Morris being held by Trevor Slattery in Shang-Chi

While Shang-Chi is certainly the more important character going forward, fans absolutely adored Tever Slattery's best pal from Ta Lo, the mysterious, furry, faceless, winged creature known as Morris. The cute and cuddly Morris appeared to only be able to communicate with Slattery, and the two of them were able to guide Shang-Chi's group to the secret entrance of Ta Lo without being eaten by the forest.

While Morris is a hybrid animal that looks quite goofy and doesn't even have a face, the most hilarious part about him is that Trevor thought he was imaginary until the others confirmed they could see him. Once Katy and Shang-Chi freak out over seeing Morris, Slattery was incredibly relieved to not be crazy (i.e. imaging Morris) and proceeds to introduce his best bud to the gang.
