2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduced another memorable character to the MCU, the aquatic king Namor of the hidden Talokan nation. Namor is ready to wage war with the entire surface world to protect Talokan and its precious vibranium deposits, and if Wakanda won't help, then he will teach the Wakandans a lesson with extreme force.

This meant the new Black Panther, Shuri, had to face Namor personally and experience his wrath firsthand. Namor is a formidable warrior-king with superhuman mutant strength, the power of flight, and a deadly vibranium spear that can pierce even the Black Panther's near-indestructible suit. However strong Namor may be, though, a handful of MCU fighters, heroes and villains alike, still outclass him on the battlefield.

10 Thor Odinson Is The MCU's #1 Warrior-King

Thor staring off camera on the Age of Ultron poster.

Valkyrie may be the mayor of New Asgard, but in spirit, the mighty Thor Odinson is the true king of all surviving Asgardians. Thor succeeded his late father Odin in 2017's Thor: Ragnarok just in time for Asgard's destruction and Thanos' arrival. Thor didn't feel like it at the time, but he was a warrior-king on par with any Black Panther or mutant.

Thor is immensely powerful with his godly strength, endurance, and lightning-based powers. He also has the almighty Stormbreaker, which has been shown to take down even the fiercest of foes. Thor can even outclass Namor in the air - the Submariner's ankle wings may give him a boost of speed, but he isn't faster than lightning.

9 Doctor Strange Wields Sorcery Beyond Namor's Imagination

Doctor Strange in the MCU with his hands raised

Doctor Strange joined the MCU in his 2016 solo movie as a cocky surgeon who opened his eyes to the possibilities of sorcery and spirituality. Now Doctor Strange is worthy of the title Sorcerer Supreme, even if Wong currently has that title, and Namor can't compare.

In battle, Doctor Strange can cast a variety of spells that would bewilder and overwhelm any Talokan warrior. Strange can create portals to escape danger or ambush his enemies, or confuse the enemy with illusions and trap them in cages of mystic energy.

8 Vision Was A Tough Robotic Avenger

MCU Vision with his hand out

Vision was artificially born in 2015's The Avengers: Age of Ultron not as Ultron's new body, but as the newest Avenger. Vision was largely a mystery to even his creators, but he did have the Mind Stone's immense power to fuel him. He could also fire devastating energy beams from his forehead stone.

Vision is also capable of flight, just like Namor, and he can modify his body in ways no Talokan king ever could. Vision may adjust his body's density at will, either hardening himself to become nigh-unbreakable or turning intangible, so physical blows harmlessly pass right through him. Namor literally wouldn't be able to touch the heroic synthezoid.

7 Hela Was The Goddess Of Death & Conquest

Hela trying to take over Asgard in Thor: Raknorok

Thor's deadly older sister Hela returned in Thor: Ragnarok when Odin passed away, and she had conquest on her mind. Hela intended to rule Asgard as its brutal queen and wage war against all other worlds, even if she had to do it alone.

Hela was a terrifying and skilled battle queen, and she could back it up with devastating shows of force. Hela could take on and defeat hundreds of elite Asgardian troops without suffering a scratch, and she could even destroy her brother's beloved hammer, Mjolnir, with her bare hands. Namor wouldn't be a match for her power.

6 Thanos' Power Is Truly Inevitable

Thanos snap Avengers: Infinity War

The "Mad Titan" himself, Thanos was the big bad of the Infinity Saga, and he changed the universe's destiny forever. Thanos commanded the fearsome Black Order and an entire army of alien warriors, but he was no armchair general. Thanos' best battles involved his own fists.

Thanos proved his worth against foes like the Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, and more throughout 2018's The Avengers: Infinity War and 2019's Endgame. Thanos' brute strength is light-years beyond Namor's own, and with the Infinity Stones, he can reshape a battle or the entire universe according to his will.

5 Wanda Maximoff Can Threaten The Entire Multiverse

Scarlet Witch using her powers in Mount Wundagore in The Multiverse of Madness

Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch, made her debut in Age of Ultron and has quickly risen in the MCU's ranks of strongest fighters. At first, Wanda was all about creepy dream magic, but now she can perform a stunning variety of arcane arts that rival Doctor Strange's own abilities.

Wanda can use incredible telekinesis to lift, throw, or crush even the largest objects, and she laid waste to an entire battalion of skilled sorcerers in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. She can also use her magic to travel the multiverse and threaten all of creation. To her, Namor would be little more than an annoyance.

4 Xu Wenwu Is A Centuries-Old Warlord With Ten Rings

The Mandarin on the battlefield in Shang-Chi

Another mighty MCU warrior-king, Xu Wenwu also goes by the Mandarin. Wenwu spent over a thousand years fighting his enemies in person while waging war, meaning he had even more battlefield experience than the 400+-year-old Namor.

Xu Wenwu also wielded the Ten Rings in battle, powerful artifacts that allowed him to perform devastating ranged attacks from all angles, fly around, and more. Xu Wenwu was also an expert martial artist, just like his heroic son Shang-Chi, and taught Shang-Chi everything he knew. Eventually, though, father and son clashed, and the Mandarin went down.

3 Captain Marvel Is A Cosmic Superhero

Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel movie poster from the MCU

Captain Marvel ranks among the MCU's strongest heroes. In truth, she may be at the very top of the list. After exposure to the Tesseract's power, Carol Danvers became the superhero Captain Marvel, able to channel and use cosmic energies without limit.

Namor thinks there are just two worlds, land-based and underwater. Meanwhile, Captain Marvel has explored countless worlds across the universe and has battled entire alien fleets to defend them all. Potentially, she could defend, or defeat, all of Wakanda on her own. With that amount of power in her hands, Captain Marvel could make quick work of Namor.

2 The Incredible Hulk Only Gets Angrier & Stronger

The Hulk looking angry in the MCU

The scientist Bruce Banner was exposed to gamma radiation and became the Incredible Hulk, a destructive but noble Avenger who is quick to smash anyone or anything that threatens the Earth. Hulk went wild in 2012's The Avengers, but ended up in a tamer hybrid form in 2019's The Avengers: Endgame.

The Hulk's rage and strength know no limits. Getting hit in battle just makes him angrier and tougher, and the Hulk has performed feats of strength no one in Wakanda Forever could pull off. The Hulk's only weakness compared to Namor is that he cannot fly, though he can still leap pretty far.

1 Ego Was A Celestial & A Living Planet

ego human form

The MCU involves a wide variety of planets and moons beyond Earth, such as Vormir, Xandar, and Titan, but some planets are themselves characters. Ego was a Celestial who made himself into an entire planet with a reddish appearance, and he was also Peter Quill's long-lost father.

Few, if any other MCU characters, can compare to a living planet's power, least of all Namor. Namor may rule the oceans, but Ego is the oceans, along with landmasses and near-infinite Celestial power that can do nearly anything. The only way to slay Ego is to destroy his brain, but Namor could never pull that off.
