Although it's relatively brief, it does its job in reminding fans what's at stake in the franchise: Namely, Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) and the rest of the Gladers taking the fight to the WCKD, the government organization responsible for wiping their memories and putting them in large mazes designed to test them. As the trailer shows, the Gladers will have a challenge ahead of them in taking down the cabal and rescuing their friends.

Originally scheduled for a release February 2017,The Death Cure had to be delayed after O'Brien suffered a major injury on set while filming a stunt. Fox later rescheduled the film to its current 2018 release date to allow O'Brien time to fully recover and complete his other obligations (which included the final season of Teen Wolf and the recently released film, American Assassin).

Maze Runner: The Death Cure stars Dylan O'Brien as Thomas, Kaya Scodelario as Theresa, Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Newt, Dexter Darden as Fry, Ki Hong Lee as Minho, Aiden Gillen as Jansen, and Patricia Clarkson as Ava Paige. The film arrives Jan. 26, 2018.
