The second episode of Mayans M.C. Season 4, "Hymn Among the Ruins," reveals just what happened to Emily Galindo after the end of her tumultuous relationship with Miguel Galindo in the Season 3 finale.

In Mayans M.C. Season 3, Miguel -- the leader of the Galindo Cartel -- investigated the mysterious death of his mother, Dita Galindo. In the process, he learned EZ Reyes -- Emily's former boyfriend -- was responsible for her death. However, Miguel also believed Emily was responsible for Dita's death based on bad evidence given to him over the course of the season. This culminated in a harrowing scene in which Miguel attempted to kill Emily by drowning her in a bathtub after drugging her. RELATED: Mayans M.C. Miguel ended up relenting and saving Emily's life, but she soon figured out just what he'd attempted to do. At the end of the season, Miguel attempted to flee the law as the Galindo Cartel collapsed around him, but Emily didn't meet him at their rendezvous point. Instead, she sent him her wedding ring and some of the pills he'd attempted to use to kill her. Miguel then left, knowing his relationship with Emily was over.

In "Hymn Among the Ruins," Mayans M.C. gives an update on the Galindo family. During a meeting in the temple at the Santo Padre clubhouse, Marcus Alvarez claims Miguel is dead, though there's no indication he's actually accurate in his assessment. Still, four months later, Miguel is still out of the picture. However, no one seems to know exactly what happened to Miguel or his family. Towards the end of "Hymn Among the Ruins," though, Mayans M.C. reveals Emily is working as a waitress in a restaurant and living in a slummy apartment.

Her son, Cristobal Galindo II, doesn't appear at all in the sequence, and there's no indication anyone in Emily's apartment is watching him, though there are lights on when she enters. It's possible that she's with some other member of her family and that she's living alone.

WIth Miguel gone, Emily is in an interesting place. EZ is also now single, and the two have perpetually orbited around each other. The breakup of both of their relationships means that it's entirely possible they'll get together again at some point in the future. However, if Miguel is indeed still alive, he could absolutely complicate matters when he does return.

The third episode of Mayans M.C. Season 4, "Self Portrait in Blue Bathroom," releases April 26 on FX. New episodes release on Tuesdays.
