WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Mayans M.C. Season 3, Episode 9, "The House of Death Floats By," which aired Tuesday on FX.
At the end of Mayans M.C. Season 2, Santo Padre massacred the Vatos Malditos biker gang in retaliation for the death of Michael "Riz" Ariza, who was actually killed by Che "Taza" Romero. However, El Palo -- the group's leader -- survived the massacre and has spent Season 3 working behind-the-scenes to destroy Santo Padre. And now in the show's latest episode, "The House of Death Floats By," Palo recruits Yuma Mayans President Canche to his cause.
In "The House of Death Floats By," Palo and his new ally, the gangster known only as El Banquero, invite Canche to Tijuana. While initially it's clear that Canche doesn't hold much stock in an alliance with either man, El Banquero reveals that the plan is going to be to wreck the Galindo Cartel and Santo Padre Mayans. In exchange, Canche and the Yuma Mayans will control the drug trade on the border. And by the end of the segment, it's clear that Canche plans to accept this deal. For his part, Palo will get to patch into the Mayans and leave Vatos Malditos behind for good.
Currently, the Santo Padre Mayans are working on a plan to kill Canche and have Bishop take control of the biker group. However, El Banquero is definitely a major threat, and he's unlikely to be one for which Santo Padre is accounting. This means that Santo Padre's plan is almost certain to go awry. Adding to this problem is that Miguel Galindo now knows that EZ Reyes killed his mother, Dita Galindo, and has asked Mayans Godfather Marcus Álvarez to kill the young man.
There seems to be even more to Palo's plan than meets the eye, though, as towards the end of the episode, he ambushes his sister, Laura, at her home. Laura, who disclosed her brother David's relationship with Taza caused Palo to murder the former, is clearly taken aback, and there's a good chance things aren't going to go well for her. Palo, after all, is willing to kill anyone to get what he wants, and that makes him truly dangerous.
