WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Mayans M.C. Season 4, Episode 8, "The Righteous Wrath of an Honorable Man," which aired Tuesday on FX.Mayans M.C. Season 4, Episode 8, "The Righteous Wrath of an Honorable Man" sees EZ Reyes kill Yuma Mayans leader Canche.

In "The Righteous Wrath of an Honorable Man," the Mayans launch an offensive against the Sons of Anarchy that sees them sneaking into the San Bernardino compound and killing a ton of their enemies. At the end of the battle, EZ kills a man in the Sons of Anarchy's chapel. Canche soon enters, and EZ shoots him in the head, saying, "I caught you slippin'." Those words echo Canche's statement earlier in Season 4 that he'd be there to get EZ whenever he caught him making a mistake. RELATED: Mayans M.C. Brutally Kills Off a Major Season 3 CharacterLater, the Mayans honor their dead, Canche among them. EZ gives his condolences to Manny, his friend in the Yuma Mayans charter. He also suggests Manny push to become vice president of the Yuma charter, the leadership for which will change following Canche's death. There's a distinct sense from the scene Manny suspects EZ played a part in Canche's death. Although he never formally accuses him, Manny is clearly disturbed by what happened.

EZ's choice to kill Canche is the latest move down a dark path for the character. Last week, in Mayans M.C. Season 4, Episode 7, "Dialogue With the Mirror," EZ killed his ex-girlfriend Gaby to protect his brother, Angel Reyes, from facing consequences for killing a security guard during their attack on UC Davis. "The Righteous Wrath of an Honorable Man" also saw EZ all-but confessing the crime his father, Felipe Reyes, who broke down in tears at his son's dark actions. Felipe was close with Gaby and a big part of her choosing to leave EZ in the first place.
