After months of speculation, former WWE Superstar Matt Hardy finally made his debut with rival professional wrestling organization AEW this past weekend. Getting ready for his full return to the ring, Hardy has unveiled his All Elite Wrestling persona: Damascus.

AEW released a promo of "Damascus" announcing that his body is merely a vessel for an ancient being that has wrestled in different organizations as Matt Hardy -- and Broken Matt Hardy for TNA. Claiming to be 3000 years old "generated in 999 B.C.," Damascus will transform All Elite Wrestling into "All Delete Wrestling," in reference to his former catchphrase.

Earlier this month, Hardy's new persona was teased to be joining the AEW wrestling team The Elite, appearing in the form of his aerial drone, Vanguard 1, before he was revealed to be observing the matches from the rafters looking down upon the ring below.

Hardy left the WWE over creative differences with the organization's management upon the expiration of his contract with the company. His departure was one of several over his fan-favorite professional wrestling career, with earlier departures leading him to join rival organizations or rejoin the independent wrestling circuit. Now, as AEW's latest recruit, Hardy's new persona will be contending against his old frenemy Chris Jericho once again.
