Matt Bomer has been nothing but open about his experience playing (and almost playing) Superman. The Doom Patrol star took on the role in the animated film Superman: Unbound and was almost cast as Clark Kent in the Zack Snyder-directed Man of Steel. However, it turns out that those weren't the only times Bomer donned the red cape.

A series of Japanese commercials for the Toyota Prius CW 2009 actually feature Bomer both as Superman and his alter ego, the mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent. In the first advertisement, Bomer's Kent attends a press conference for the car. In the second, he actually spends most of the commercial in costume, following and inspecting the automobile for a story he's writing for the Daily Planet.

Many classic Superman tropes appear in the ads, including Kent's overt clumsiness and a brief appearance by Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White. Bomer even flies around in full costume as the classic John Williams theme from the first Superman film plays. While Bomer hasn't gotten to play Superman in a full blown live-action film, these commercials do give curious fans an idea of what that could have looked like.
