Warner Bros.' Matrix 4 has fallen victim to coronavirus (COVID-19).

According to Deadline, the upcoming sequel has suspended production, with plans to resume filming at an as-yet unannounced later date. The project had just shifted production from San Francisco to Berlin, Germany. Matrix 4 is reportedly the last Warner Bros. film to close its doors to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Initially, early reports indicated Matrix 4 would continue filming as planned. However, as the COVID-19 threat continues to evolve, it seems Warner Bros. has changed its stance in order to protect the cast and crew.

Matrix 4 is far from the only film affected by coronavirus. Disney's Mulan and The New Mutants have been pulled from the studio's release schedule; Universal pushed James Bond film No Time to Die from April to November. Sony also bounced Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway from April to August. Tom Hanks' latest film shut down when he, his wife and some of the crew tested positive for coronavirus. Last week, Universal announced F9 will now release next year instead of this May, while A Quiet Place Part 2 was also pulled. Disney and Netflix have both suspended all productions.

Directed by Lana Wachowski, The Matrix 4 stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick and Jonathan Groff. The film arrives May 21, 2021.
