The fourth installment in the Matrix film franchise is coming, and two artists who were part of the series at the start are confirmed to return.Artist Geof Darrow recently confirmed on Twitter that he and Steve Skroce are both set to work on the upcoming fourth film.

Known for his work in the comic book industry, some of the titles Darrow has worked on include Hard Boiled, Shaolin Cowboy and The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot, which later inspired a cartoon adaptation. As mentioned, he also served as a "conceptual designer" on the three Matrix films, providing concept work even early in development, having been approached by the Wachowskis, who liked his work in the comics.

Similarly, Skroce also got his start in comics working for various Marvel series, where he met the Wachowskis while working on the Ectokid series. Eventually, he helped create storyboards for The Matrix to help them pitch the original movie.

As we've previously reported, they won't be the only people returning to work on the upcoming movie. At least two members of the original cast, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, will reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity. At least one half of the sibling directorial team behind the first movie, Lana Wachowski, will return to write and direct the film.

The upcoming film is expected to go into production sometime in 2020.
