Warning: The following contains spoilers for the first five episodes of Masters of the Universe: Revelation, now streaming on Netflix.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation showrunner Kevin Smith revealed in a new Q&A about the Netflix series that the second half of Season 1 will reveal a lot more about Evil-Lyn.

"Evil-Lyn, [is] absolutely one of my favorite characters, not just because Lena Headey gives it, what I feel, is like an award-worthy performance, bringing this character to life, but also because we mirror Teela's journey with Evil-Lyn's journey as well," Smith shared in a video posted on Twitter. "You're talking about two women who have been in the shadows of very powerful male characters since the inception of the franchise. And Teela, you know, fought side-by-side with He-Man definitely [like] more of his equal. Evil-Lyn, though, was always Skeletor's subservient."

Smith added that, when He-Man and Skeletor died in the Part 1 finale, it gave the writers an opportunity to explore how the women in their lives -- Teela and Evil-Lyn -- would evolve without them.

"What happens if those two figures are removed from their lives, who do they get to be?" Smith continued. "And as we see in these first five episodes, there's goodness in Evil-Lyn, as Orko points out. But in the next five episodes, kids, it shifts into an Evil-Lyn story that is so compelling. Absolutely fascinating, satisfying, heartbreaking. It became my favorite part of Masters of the Universe: Revelation."

The showrunner also gushed about his love for Evil-Lyn during a conversation with CBR in July, saying at the time, "Her journey becomes really interesting. Her name is Evil-Lyn so it's right in her brand, but slowly she joins the heroic warriors and becomes something of a hero."

"Watching somebody who's just been the sinister sidekick for all these years, abused by her boss and whatnot, have to deal with a world without that guy -- just like Teela is dealing with a world without He-Man -- Evil-Lyn has to figure out who she is in the absence of Skeletor," Smith shared. He also teased Evil-Lyn's "wonderful" Part 2 storyline and doubled-down on his proclamation that "she was the character I was most surprised that I enjoyed so much."

While Season 1 ended with Skeletor and He-Man appearing to die in a battle, Smith recently revealed that it's likely the characters will return in some way during Part 2, and that Skeletor will be renamed. "He becomes what we call in the room Skelegod," the showrunner said at the time. "Something he's dreamed about for 40 years -- but you got to be careful what you wish for, kids." And while Part 2 has yet to receive a release date, Mattel already released the Masters of the Universe Masterverse Revelation Skelegod Action Figure.

Executive produced by Kevin Smith, the first five episodes of Masters of the Universe: Revolution are now available on Netflix.
