WARNING: The following contains spoilers for the Season 3 premiere of Marvel's Spider-Man, which aired on Disney XD

The various symbiotes of the Marvel Universe all have their own unique elements and attributes that make them adept tools for whatever heroes and villains end up bonded with one. But while most of them are natural alien beings, a new manufactured suit that was just introduced might be the most useful version of the symbiote yet.

The third season premiere of Marvel's Spider-Man introduces a new synthetic symbiote suit for the titular hero designed at Horizon Labs that might just be the most useful symbiote ever introduced -- even if he doesn't get the chance to use it much before it's destroyed.

In the third season premiere of Marvel's Spider-Man, it's revealed that Max Modell has been working on a new version of the symbiote that could be easier to control than any previous fully sentient symbiote. Modell hasn't been able to shake his belief that the symbiote could be used as a way to improve numerous lives across the world. To that end, he's used small pieces of the symbiote to create a new and controlled suit. Because the symbiote isn't fully alive, this means the symbiote doesn't have the natural consciousness that typical symbiotes possess. This means the suit doesn't try to overwhelm the person it's bonded to, instead just working as a powerful boost.

The suit comes with all the advantages of having a symbiote suit, including enhancing Spider-Man's strength and speed beyond his already amplified physical prowess. While wearing it, Peter can have it shift appearance, change shape to create weapons or tendrils and even utilize it as a means to make webs. However, the suit is weak to a specific electrical current, much like the Venom symbiote itself in this animated continuity is vulnerable. Although it's not all electricity that has an effect on the synthetic symbiote, as a Stark arc reactor ends up seeming to even empower the synthetic suit.

But the suit can be stopped if hit with the right kind of electrical current, however. This can force the suit to be overloaded and sent out of control. It takes Spider-Man utilizing a great deal of mental control to bring the symbiote back under control. However, there's another weakness to this new and improved symbiote. When it's touched by Venom, it's is able to use the natural connection it has to the synthetic symbiote to draw it into itself,  fully absorbing it. This, in essence, eliminates the synthetic suit. The Venom symbiote is then seemingly destroyed alongside the absorbed suit after Spider-Man is able to overload it with the electrical current while it is trying to summon the rest of the symbiote species to Earth.

Despite only being in the show for a brief period before being destroyed, the synthetic suit is a genuinely engaging idea for a new suit. It gives Spider-Man plenty of abilities that he usually lacks, something that Peter is able to quickly adapt to the power boosts, making good use of the suit for the brief time that he has it. It would make for a fun suit if it appeared in other media such as the comics, and could easily become a very potent tool for the hero if her the chance to use it elsewhere.
