PlayStation has confirmed recent reports that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will launch in the Fall of 2023.

PlayStation posted to its official blog, confirming Marvel's Spider-Man 2's rumored release window. Writer Jamie Mayer, who works on Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine for developer Insomniac, seemingly confirmed the release window yesterday after noting Fall 2023 for the former on her personal website. The new game will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5.

A blurb for the game on PlayStation's blog reads, "Following the events of Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the Spider-duo of Peter Parker and Miles Morales are back in the next blockbuster action chapter of the Marvel's Spider-Man series. Much is still to be revealed about the game, and going off the quality of the past two titles, we're bound to be in for a fantastic new original Spider-Man adventure."

Recent updates in Marvel's Spider-Man's development led to rampant speculation about the title's eventual release. PlayStation Store's UK shopfront added a page devoted to the game, allowing fans to add it to their wishlist. Insomniac community director James Stevenson caused more fans to theorize that a Marvel's Spider-Man 2 trailer could release soon after he encouraged fans to begin adding the game to their wishlists. He also added a gif of the game's Peter Parker and Miles Morales from the teaser trailer without explanation, which also excited fans.

Further fan excitement erupted after Marvel's Spider-Man 2 debuted a new Vemon logo on the same store page, showcasing the symbiote's classic black and white symbol. Although fans previously saw the image as it flashed over the screen in the teaser trailer last year, the new store page seemed to confirm it would be the game's official logo. The page went down shortly after, but fans managed to screenshot it beforehand.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has also updated its approach to the graphics. Harry Osborn voice actor Scott Porter recently revealed he would not return to the role in the sequel, as Insomniac wished to hire someone younger for the part to do facial capture with. While I voiced Harry in the first Spider-Man, I, unfortunately, will not be in the sequel," Porter wrote. "They decided to go photoreal and the difference between me and Harry's ages was too much to overcome I believe. I was bummed but I get it. Gonna be an incredible game."

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 launches sometime in the Fall of 2023.
