Marvel Comics has announced Marvels Snapshots: Spider-Man #1 and Marvels Snapshots: The Avengers #1 as part of its Marvels Snapshots series.

The bi-monthly series will consist of eight standalone issues offering unusual viewpoints on some of your favorite Marvel heroes. Sub-Mariner: Marvels Snapshot #1 & Fantastic Four: Marvels Snapshot #1 will hit shelves in March, while Captain America: Marvels Snapshot #1 & X-Men: Marvels Snapshot #1 will debut in April. Spider-Man and The Avengers will be available in May.

The Spider-Man story will be told through the eyes of a lowly criminal who is just trying to make a living in a world full of superheroes. Written and drawn by Howard Chaykin, the one-shot will give readers a glimpse into the hard lives of the henchmen that take Spider-Man's beatings.

The Avengers story will be set in the era of David Michelinie, John Byrne, and George Perez. It will follow the blooming romance of a rookie cop and a new-to-the-city emergency medical technician who meet in the  middle of a battle between the Avengers and a giant robot.
