Marvel's Runaways will reportedly return for a second season in late 2018. Neither Marvel nor Hulu have officially announced the renewal.
The report appears on RenewCancelTV, though no specific date was specified. Season 2's story will likely remain under wraps until it moves deeper into production.
Runaways follows a group of teenagers who discover their parents are collectively the sinister organization known as The Pride, a supervillain group that meets in secret every year to conduct a sacrifice. When the teens witness the sacrifice being performed, they know they have to step up and take down their parents.
The TV series has deviated fairly significantly from the source material thus far, with an increased focus on the Pride and some changes to key plot details and characters. Nonetheless, the show has met with critical success, and comics co-creator Brian K. Vaughan has called the show "fantastic." Vaughan, who works on the adaptation, also promised fans that they're in for some surprises, even if they know what happens in the comics.
Now streaming on Hulu, Marvel's Runaways stars Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, Allegra Acosta, Ryan Sands, Angel Parker, Brittany Ishibashi, James Yaegashi, Kevin Weisman, Brigid Brannagh, Annie Wersching, Kip Pardue, James Marsters and Ever Carradine. The finale for Season 1 will premiere on January 9.
