Marvel's Midnight Suns dropped the first trailer for its Venom-centric DLC along with a release date.

The DLC, titled Redemption, brings Venom as a playable character to the Abbey after his role as an antagonist and child of Lilith in the mainline game. This comes just weeks after the Deadpool DLC launched to great reviews. In Redemption Eddie Brock and Venom attempt to make up for the wrongs they committed while working under the Mother of Demons. It launches on Feb. 23 and becomes automatically available for Season Pass holders.

Venom's DLC Continues the Story From Deadpool

Redemption adds three new story missions to the game following up from Deadpool's DLC, The Good, The Bad, and The Undead. It continues the story of vampires infiltrating New York, though Redemption sees Mephisto play a role in it. The DLC also adds ten new cards for Venom's move pool and a character-specific research project, Whisper Web.

Marvel's Midnight Suns' Creative Director Jake Solomon and Lead Designer Joe Weinhoffer previously teased what fans could expect from the then-unnamed Venom DLC, revealing it would expand on the character's story in the main game; namely, that the three additional missions would run parallel with the events of the primary story. As Weinhoffer explained, "We have Fallen Venom in the game, and his story kind of ends part way through the story and then the DLC kind of picks up where that leaves off and you really get to hang out with Eddie and feel and learn about how does he feel about everything that happened with Lilith."

Marvel's Midnight Suns DLC Adds Deadpool, Venom, Storm and Morbius

Weeks before Marvel's Midnight Suns launched in December, the team announced that it would launch DLC adding four additional characters through a Deadpool "takeover" of its Twitter account. Besides the Merc with a Mouth and Venom, Midnight Suns also plan to add Storm and Morbius at later dates. While there's little known about Storm, developer Firaxis Games confirmed it would lean into Morbius' "memeable" side in his DLC.

"He gets a strapped leather look, which is so awesome and I just remember as a kid being like, 'Oh, my God. Morbius is actually pretty cool,'" Solomon said. "But then I'm like, 'Why did he do this in the middle of this whole thing?' He was like, 'I need to go down to New York City and I need to get this new look from Fifth Avenue.' And he comes out in this cool leather outfit."

Marvel's Midnight Suns' Venom DLC, Redemption, launches on Feb. 23 for individual purchase. Season Pass holders receive the DLC automatically.
