After months of delays due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Iron Man VR is confirmed for release on PlayStation VR next month.

Developer Camouflaj has shared a behind-the-scenes featurette for the upcoming VR game. The video shows how the team crafted an immersive experience using the PlayStation 4's VR peripherals to create a strong pitch for Marvel Games and acquire the video game license for the Armored Avenger.

Gameplay footage shows players inhabiting the superhero's signature armor in a high-flying mission to rescue an airliner threatened by armed drones. The motion controls react to the players' movements, which allows them to use the Iron Man suit's repulsors to drive back enemies.

The upcoming game was originally slated for release this past February, but was delayed by the development team by three months to improve the game's quality. After the global health crisis swept across the country this past April, publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment decided to delay the game an additional two months in order to ensure a smooth launch for the game would be possible.

Developed by Camouflaj, Iron Man VR will be released July 3 for PlayStation VR on the PlayStation 4.
