Marvel Studios' Eternals is approaching its release date. Alongside new clips and treats for eager audiences, the upcoming film has also received a new synopsis teasing the events of the upcoming film and a new side to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The new synopsis reads: "When monstrous creatures called the Deviants, long thought lost to history, mysteriously return, the Eternals are forced to reunite in order to defend humanity once again."

Eternals' new synopsis comes in time for the release of the final trailer, which revealed more about the titular band of beings and their adherence of the instructions given to them by the celestials that created them. The new synopsis is notably more vague. Where the original description provided a brief explanation of who the Eternals are, as well as the Deviants, the new synopsis is somewhat more simplistic and straightforward and omits the connection between Avengers: Endgame and the events of Eternals.

For comparison, the old description read, "Marvel Studios’ Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, the Deviants."

Eternals introduces a wide variety of new heroes. The film features a star studded cast consisting of Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Barry Keoghan as Druig and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman/Black Knight.

Director Chloé Zhao has been praised by the cast of the film, as well as Marvel President Kevin Feige, who suggested that the Eternals could not have been made without the Academy Award-winning director. He previously stated, "The truth is, we would not have even attempted this if it weren't for Chloé... We thought, here's a filmmaker who is equal parts cinematic visionary and genre nerd. She can outtalk any of us when it comes to manga and Star Wars and Marvel comics. It's quite an astounding combination. And this movie, I think, represents all of the immense multitudes of Chloé."

Marvel Studios' Eternals is scheduled to hit theaters exclusively on Nov. 5.
