Marvel veteran C.B. Cebulski confirmed this morning that he's leaving New York City for China to help guide the company's expansion in Asia.

"I'll be Marvel's man inside the Disney Shanghai offices," he wrote on Facebook.

Bleeding Cool first reported last week that Cebulski is leaving New York, but didn't have any of the details.

Cebulski, who was promoted last year to Vice President of International Business Development & Brand Management, called the new position as his "biggest role at Marvel yet."

"I've recently agreed to spearhead efforts to further manage and develop Marvel's brand in Asia," he wrote. "It's the natural extension of a lot of what I've been doing already, except moving forward, I won't be on as many long haul flights; you see, I'm relocating!"

Since joining Marvel in 2002, Cebulski has worked for the company as an editor, writer and, perhaps most prominently, Senior Vice President of Creative & Creator Development, a role for which he frequently traveled overseas to scout new talent.
