The Marvelsfrom writer Kurt Busiek and artist Yildiray Cinar with covers by Alex Ross, will be debuting at a date that's later than expected.

The new series is now slated to go on sale beginning in April. No official reason was given for the delay, though the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has led to several Marvel Comics either being delayed (The Eternals) or canceled (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker adaptation).

"The whole idea of The Marvels is to be able to use the whole Marvel Universe -- not just all the characters in it, but all the history of it. The sweeping scope of the whole thing," Busiek said when first discussing The Marvels in February. "Big stuff can happen in the Marvel Universe, but we usually see it confined largely to the Avengers in Avengers, to the FF in Fantastic Four, and so on. The Marvels is intended as a freewheeling book that can go anywhere, do anything, use anyone. It’s a smorgasbord of Marvel heroes and history."

Busiek, who has previously written Marvel titles including a run on The Avengers and Untold Tales of Spider-Man, will pen the series while Cinar provides art. Busiek's Marvels collaborator, Alex Ross, will provide covers for the series.

The Marvels #1, by Kurt Busiek and Yildiray Cinar, goes on sale in April from Marvel Comics.
