Marvel Announces Prequel Comic for Upcoming Avengers Video Game

Marvel Comics plans on releasing a prequel comic for the upcoming Marvel's Avengers video game. Written by Jim Zub and illustrated by Paco Medina, Marvel's Avengers: Iron Man #1 reunites part of the creative team from the Avengers: No Surrender weekly event, as the Armored Avenger and the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes take on a supervillain team that made its debut in No Surrender.

Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk and Black Widow will have to oppose the Lethal Legion, with Tony Stark discovering his enemies have co-opted Stark technology.

As he begins his investigation, Iron Man starts to question his teammates' true motives, with the comic's synopsis teasing "something more sinister at play."

Head of studio Scot Amos recently offered a detailed breakdown of how the co-op will work on Marvel's Avengers, with examples given for campaign and multi-player modes.

The game is scheduled to be released on May 15, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.
