Square Enix has released official gameplay footage for Marvel's Avengers, which features Earth's Mightiest Heroes attempting to defend San Francisco from a terrorist attack.

The demo footage primarily takes place on the Golden Gate bridge as Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Black Widow fight armored soldiers on the bridge and inside a Helicarrier. What's notable is the footage contains polished graphics and dialogue that wasn't present when the game was announced at this year's E3 conference, or in a leak that made its way online in July.

Fans of the Marvel comics that inspired the video game will recognize the villain Taskmaster, along with Easter eggs for Ms. Marvel and the evil scientific organization Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.), who are responsible for pulling the strings behind the A-Day attack.

Developed by Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix, Marvel's Avengers features Nolan North as Iron Man, Troy Baker as Bruce Banner, Laura Bailey as Black Widow, Jeff Schine as Captain America and Travis Willingham as Thor. The game is scheduled to be released on May 15, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.
