After a poor reception at the game's launch, Marvel's Avengers has a second chance with Xbox owners now that it's on Game Pass. While those owners will still be missing out on the Spider-Man DLC coming exclusively to Playstation soon, Marvel's Avengers could potentially make a comeback with players who previously passed on it now having access to it as part of their Game Pass sub.

Although not required, micro-transactions are highly marketed within the game, with some of the best cosmetics locked behind paywalls. Customizing heroes with new takedowns, outfits and emotes requires players to grind up levels or make in-game purchases with real money. In the case of DLC characters, they may need to do both, as an upfront payment is required to access a majority of post-launch character progression rewards. Luckily, some good deals can make in-game purchases much more palatable to those willing to spend a little to get more out of their superhero experience.

Captain America's Infinity War Costume joins Marvel's Avengers.

The marketplace in Marvel's Avengers contains outfits, takedowns, emotes and nameplates. These can range from 100 credits (about a dollar) for nameplates to 1400 credits for Exotic rarity outfits. The Marvel Cinematic Universe-inspired costumes typically are exotic rarity outfits, but $14 is a steep price for one costume.

There are multiple credit prices and bundles in Marvel's Avengers, including the Heroic Credits Pack for $5, Incredible Credits Pack for $10 and a staggering $100 for the Ultimate Credits Pack. Additionally, the game offers bundles for buying credits that come with character-specific Epic/Legendary outfits and emotes. These bundles are by far the best value for spending money in Marvel's Avengers, as they cost the same amount as the packs from the in-game store that do not offer free cosmetics.

Black Panther in Marvel's Avengers

At the time of writing, the in-game marketplace features bundles with Hawkeye, Captain America and Iron Man cosmetics, known as the Heroic Starter Pack and Rivalry Incredible Pack, respectively. Once these are purchased, blanket credit purchases will replace them in the in-game store. You're better off avoiding these, though. By navigating to the Xbox/Playstation Store, players will find a multitude of bundles not found in Marvel's Avengers' marketplace, such as Hawkeye's Incredible Pack, a Black Panther Heroic Starter Pack and many more. By purchasing these, players can receive Legendary outfits and emotes for every hero in the game while buying a multitude of credits on the side to spend on any other marketplace items. Buying credit packs with bundled cosmetics will set players up for the best Marvel Avenger's experience for a fraction of what it would normally cost to obtain these items from the marketplace.

It is also worth noting that, although Xbox Game Pass members have Marvel's Avengers to play at no additional cost, Playstation Plus subscribers will find multiple free bundles in the Playstation Store with items for Hawkeye, Black Panther and more.
