Despite rumors of an update for Marvel's Avengers that would see the addition of She-Hulk to the team, new reports suggest Jane Foster's Thor might land first.Miller, an insider on Twitter who has proved reliable before, revealed his speculation in a nine-posts-long thread. According to Miller, She-Hulk was initially expected to appear in the game in the last quarter of 2021 but got pushed back "in relative alignment with her eponymous Disney + series delay" despite Marvel's Avengers reportedly casting Krizia Bajos as She-Hulk. Instead, Miller believes Crystal Dynamics are instead releasing Jane Foster's Thor while saving She-Hulk for release at the same time as her show.RELATED: Marvel's Avengers Fan Art Gives She-Hulk a Gamma-Fueled Helicarrier Bedroom

Miller explains that, due to She-Hulk's appearance being delayed, it left a significant gap in the release of new content for a game structured around releasing regular additions. Because of the sudden delay, the minds behind Marvel's Avengers would need to expedite the creation of a new character and storyline, leaving them with few options -- namely, only characters that share basic power structures with characters already in the game.

Rumors tossed around the names of several characters, Miller admits, and he can't say that he is 100% positive on this one. He says that he "didn't plan on breaking the news until I reached a 100% unshakable confidence in its veracity because I have been wrong before and it's frustrating." However, after examining the evidence that he'd uncovered and noting that other sources seemed to have "soft-broke" the story, Miller determined that he was reasonably confident in his prediction. "Because I hadn't revealed who the character was, I comfortably narrowed speculation down to the characters I'd heard," Miller explains. "With that said, I'm confident in my initial sourcing. And I've become increasingly convinced since."

Part of this speculation comes from the fact that a release soon would mean it coincides with the release of Thor: Love and Thunder, marking Jane Foster's return to the MCU and the first appearance of her incarnation of Thor. If Marvel's Avengers pushed back She-Hulk's arrival for it to align with the release of her show, it makes sense that Crystal Dynamics may want the same with Jane Foster's Thor. Whether this means we can expect similar coinciding releases remains to be seen.

News of this breaks only months after Crystal Dynamics' Senior Brand Manager Nick Edwards promised fans they'll see more content for Marvel's Avengers in 2022. Recently, Crystal Dynamics confirmed the return of Nick Fury to Marvel's Avengers and explained in a blog post how changes to basic gameplay are in the works to better suit players. This includes a complete revamp of the War Map after complaints from fans that leveling in Marvel's Avengers is frustrating, as well as other "sweeping" changes which have yet to be specified.

Marvel's Avengers is currently available to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
