In Marvel's Avengers, Earth's Mightiest Heroes will find themselves uniting to battle the forces of A.I.M (Advanced Idea Mechanics), a criminal organization led by MODOK. A new look at the game delves deep into A.I.M and its machinations.

In the game, A.I.M. is led by scientist George Tarleton, who will eventually become MODOK. He is assisted by scientist Monica Rappaccini. Usman Ally and Jolene Andersen provide the voice and motion capture for Tarleton and Rappacini respectively.

"In terms of how George becomes this creature, this thing and how so much of it is driven by his ambition to help people, I think there is a genuine belief that what he is doing is for the betterment of human beings and that strong, strong sense of self and his position in society, wanting to do more, is what continues to drive him." Ally told ComicBook.com, "I found that to be some of the really fascinating stuff and how that gets blasted with one's ego or one's own insecurities coming to the fore. He's a very complex character."

Andersen spoke about how dangerous Rappaccini is, and how she harnesses the Terrigen mists in her work. "She has this one-track mind in a way and that's what I feel is her strongest point, and what makes her so powerful. Also her drive, her ability to manipulate everything around her." She added, "She is a perfect specimen of a person which makes her a perfect villain... she comes in an unassuming bottle at the same time, I love all of that nuance with her."

Creative Director Shaun Escayg added that he wanted a different take on the Avengers disbanding, as that plot point had been covered in several comics and other media. He said that A.I.M steps up in the Avengers' absence and utilizes their technology to better mankind.

Developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montréal and published by Square Enix, Marvel's Avengers arrives on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC on Sept. 4.
