The Future Imperfect campaign will feature Hawkeye, having returned from an apocalyptic future, recruiting his fellow Avengers to prevent a Kree invasion that led to the destruction of society. The apocalyptic future is ruled by Maestro, an alternate future version of the Hulk who was driven mad by the fallout and wished to rid the world of supervillains and superheroes. The campaign will not only introduce Hawkeye as a new playable character but will also introduce a new region, the Wastelands, which will feature new missions such as Villain Sectors.

The War Table video featured a closer look at the upcoming Avenger Hawkeye and his unique abilities. Hawkeye will use his one-of-a-kind bow skills for ranged attacks and Ronin’s sword for melee attacks. He will have 10 different arrow types in his arsenal, including grapple arrows, rocket arrows and boomerang arrows, among others. The video also showed off Hawkeye’s Ultimate Heroic ability, which allows him to shoot an arrow that will target and pierce multiple enemies dealing massive damage.

Marvel’s Avengers is a third-person action adventure game with single-player and co-op missions and is built as an expanding live service where additional characters will be released post-launch. It features an original story with new depictions of the characters.

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, Marvel's Avengers is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC.  Hawkeye, the Future Imperfect campaign and a next-gen version of the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will release on March 18.
