The Avengers have seen a number of heroes join their ranks over the years in the comics, and now their upcoming video game will reportedly feature a massive roster of characters. A subreddit for Marvel's Avengers has posted an alleged beta file for the game, which reveals quite a large number of heroes and villains.

The leaked data file includes playable heroes Ant-Man and the Wasp, Black Panther, Vision, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers and her predecessor Mar-Vell), Quake, Falcon and Scarlet Witch. Other characters will be referenced, including the cyborg killing machine Deathlok and the Avengers' robotic archfoe Ultron.

Two characters have been officially revealed as DLC for the game. The Avengers' resident archer Hawkeye will be the first DLC character. In 2021, Spider-Man will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4 version of the game. Each character is said to come complete with their own tailored story that fits into the world of the game.

Several characters had been previously revealed to be playable from another leaked beta files. Those characters include Kate Bishop as Hawkeye, She-Hulk and War Machine. There are two more beta tests scheduled before the game's official release.

Developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montréal and published by Square Enix, Marvel's Avengers arrives on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC on Sept. 4.
