Marvel's Avengers took to recent comic runs for its newest outfit for teen superhero Ms. Marvel.
The newest look is inspired by an outfit seen in an issue of The Magnificent Ms. Marvel string of comics. "In the face of change, you should adapt. And keep the nifty new nanotech suit," reads the teaser. "Ms. Marvel's Magnificent Ms. Marvel Outfit is inspired by the malleable Kree material she encounters in Magnificent Ms. Marvel Vol. 1 #5. Find it in the Marketplace now!"
The new outfit features a nanotech suit that keeps Kamala Khan's usual blue and red color scheme but accents her with gold tech instead of yellow. Gone is her usual thunderbolt across the chest, replaced now by gold and silver plate covering a scaled blue base. Ms. Marvel's familiar symbol is still apparent on the suit, showing as a blue outline of a bolt across her hip.
The Magnificent Ms. Marvel comics ran from March 2019 until January 2021 by writer Saladin Ahmed (Black Bolt, Exiles) and artist Minkyu Jung (Batgirl, Nightwing). In issue #5, Ms. Marvel received the Stormranger suit, which was infused with Kree nanotechnology and gave her several new abilities, including power boosters and control over technology. She could also activate and deactivate the suit with a thought, making it easy to change into her costume in the blink of an eye when called upon to face danger. Because of the suit's greater protective abilities, it gave Ms. Marvel the ability to face bigger and stronger threats than ever before.
Since the reveal that Marvel's Avengers no longer has a roadmap, developer Crystal Dynamics has instead focused on releasing minor updates with bits of new content, like skins for the various heroes. As part of this, Ms. Marvel recently received a new costume, the Cosmic outfit, in honor of the Islamic holiday Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan. In terms of more significant updates for the game, Crystal Dynamics revealed that Jane Foster's Mighty Thor would arrive in Marvel's Avengers in time for her big-screen debut in Thor: Love and Thunder.
