Marvel's "Agents of SHIELD" Celebrates Return With New Posters

When "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" Skye was revealed to be Daisy Johnson, Marvel Comics readers knew that this meant big -- seismic -- changes for the character when the series returned from its Season Two winter hiatus. Now, with the show set to premiere its first new episode in months, ABC has debuted an new poster giving viewers a glimpse of what to expect when Skye, Agent Coulson and the mysterious Raina make their television return.

The first poster in the weekly series is illustrated by Gabriele Dell'Otto, a fitting choice since he, along with writer Brian Michael Bendis, created the character who is now poised to introduce fans of Marvel's Cinematic Universe to the Inhumans.

"[T]hat's 100% why we chose him," AoS EP Jeff Bell told Entertainment Weekly. "And other aspects of [the poster] involve Coulson's relationship to her, and also sort of hinting at what you also saw hinted at in episode ten, which is Raina ain't quite the same as we saw her last time. And that will be really interesting, to see how people react to that. We're really excited about the actress, Ruth Negga, and where we're taking the character, and so the poster hints at that as well."

"We've been playing the Skye and Raina through the whole thing as parallels, as doppelgangers of one another-two sides of the same coin," Bell said of the other star of the poster. "Both young women without parents, without a history, both struggling with who they are, both looking to figure out who they are and what they will become. And then who they are and what they will become in both instances are surprising and complicated and so that will absolutely affect their relationship with one another."

In addition to promising more posters throughout the remainder of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" sophomore season, limited edition prints of each design will be available for purchase via Marvel's online store.

ABC's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." kicks off the back half of Season Two on Tuesday, March 3 at 9pm.
