The roster of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." looks to grow by one more in the show's upcoming third season, as actor Andrew Howard has joined in a "major recurring role," as reported Monday by Deadline. Howard will play Banks, described as an "an authoritative and intimidating agent;" a character that appears original to the TV series.

Howard's film credits include "Taken 3" and "Limitless," and has recently appeared on TV series including "Bates Motel" and "Banshee."

The third season of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." began production this week, and is scheduled to debut Tuesday, Sept. 29 on ABC.
