The original Marvel Zombies ran from December 2005 until April 2006. It takes place in an alternate universe where Earth's mightiest heroes are infected with a virus that turns them into flesh-eating zombies. Multiple sequels and tie-in series have been released since the initial series' debut.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has lightly dabbled in the Marvel Zombies lore. An undead Iron Man based on the cover of Marvel Zombies 2 #1 appeared as one of Mysterio's illusions in Spider-Man: Far From Home. The upcoming Disney+ series What If...? will also feature an episode centered around Marvel Zombies.
