Galactus Is At the Heart of Marvel Zombies: Respawn

Two weeks ago, Marvel offered up an ominous teaser image promising that "The dead will walk again" with the return of Marvel Zombies. Now, the House of Ideas has finally offered up the first official details on the next chapter of the fan-favorite title.

In October, Marvel will release Marvel Zombies: Respawn #1, written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson with art by Leonard Kirk and a cover by Inhyuk Lee, and -- much like the original -- Galactus will play a major role.

The original Marvel Zombies was a five-issue limited series by Robert Kirkman and Sean Phillips that ran from December 2005 through April 2006. Spinning out of Ultimate Fantastic Four and set in an alternate universe (Earth-2149), the series saw the various heroes and villains of Marvel transformed into flesh-eating zombies thanks to a virus from another dimension. However, after Galactus arrived on Earth to devour the planet, even he was defeated by the undead, infusing the zombified heroes with the power cosmic and turning them into the collective Galacti.
