Kitty Pryde has one of the more roller coaster shaped love lives of all the X-Men. The fact that Kitty is now the pirate queen of the Marauders makes some sense as she kind of actually has a love interest in every port of Marvel Comics. Between main Marvel continuity, alternate universes, and films and television, Kitty has dated some of the most well-known heroes around, including Spider-Man.

But some of Kitty's relationships aren't that well-known, or in some cases, even acknowledged. Who are the many loves of Kitty's life? Here is every love interest of Kitty Pryde, ranked.

10 Pete Wisdom

Pete Wisdom might be the most curious of Kitty Pryde's love interests, given how different he is from the others. The agent of Black Air came into her life during the later stages of Excalibur's original run.

The chain-smoking and gruff Wisdom gave off a lot of John Constantine vibes. While Wisdom did have ties to the occult side of the Marvel Universe, he was a mutant with the ability to throw blades of energy from his hands. The two were together for a while but ultimately broke up after Kitty met a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent closer in age.

9 Douglas Ramsey

Doug Ramsey and Kitty Pryde made an early and immediate connection. Both were new students at Xavier's School For Gifted Students, incredibly intelligent (especially when it came to electronics and engineering), and young.

The attraction was a bit more on Doug's side of the equation though, as Kitty at the time was all about Colossus (as she generally is for big chunks of time). Despite his best efforts and unique mutant ability, Cypher could never quite speak Kitty's language and the two never really took off as a couple.

8 Ultimate Spider-Man

In an alternate reality of Ultimate Comics, Kitty Pryde went to Midtown High School alongside Peter Parker. She had a serious crush on Spider-Man as it was, and when she found out the two men were one and the same, she fell hook, line, and sinker.

As with Doug Ramsey, Kitty and Peter had a lot in common and were both incredibly intelligent. Kitty's relationship with Peter went much further, though. They dated for a decent chunk of time before Peter eventually made it work with his true love, Mary Jane. This was a fun relationship and a potential opportunity for introducing Kitty in the MCU.

7 Iceman

Being a member of the X-Men is confusing sometimes. It seems like everyone is always changing, in powers or appearance, and so are their hearts. One of the bigger surprises Kitty received in recent years was the interest of Bobby Drake, AKA Iceman. The two dated for a while before Bobby realized that he was gay.

Kitty also had a romantic link to him in the Fox X-Men films. In X-Men: The Last Stand, Kitty is shown to have an interest in Bobby, much to the chagrin of Rogue, though much of this subplot was cut from the movie.

6 Avalanche (X-Men: Evolution)

X-Men-Evolution-Avalanche

One of Kitty Pryde's more unusual relationships occurred in the mid-2000s animated series X-Men: Evolution. Over the course of the show, she formed a close relationship with the impulsive and young leader of the Brotherhood, Avalanche.

Despite being on opposing mutant factions, the two develop a connection that grows through each season. Lance Alvers is portrayed very differently than his comic book counterpart, with a lot of inner conflict and depth, and his on-again, off-again romance with Kitty is part of his growth as a character.

5 Billy The Kid

This is one of the more gonzo moments in Kitty's love life as it didn't even technically involve her. But it did. Long story short, Kitty encountered a young man named Billy the Kid in an alternate reality during Excalibur's classic romp The Cross Time Caper.

This seemingly very noble knight asks for Kitty's hand in marriage. When she turns him down, Billy's grandmother puts a spell on Kitty. The craziest part is that the enemy Billy is fighting in this bizarre reality is an alternate version of Kitty, who is also in love with him. They get married and the real Kitty high-tails it out of there.

4 Magik

Bobby Drake came to the realization he was gay later in life. While there has never been an explicit or overt acknowledgment of Kitty's queerness, there is significant subtextual evidence that she is, enough that many fans read her as such.

That understanding begins with one of Kitty's most enduring relationships, Illyana Rasputin. Kitty forms a very close bond with Magik, the younger sister of Colossus, that X-Men writer Chris Claremont kept extremely subtle. The most dramatic indication of how intimate they were lies in the fact that Kitty could draw the Soulsword, something no one else could do.

3 Star-Lord

Kitty definitely loves adventurous men, and she found one in Peter Quill, Star-Lord. For a time in the 2010s, Kitty joined up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and formed a whirlwind romance with the leader of the team. He proposed and she accepted, though, like all of Kitty's relationships, she could not quite commit.

Kitty ends up going back to Earth during the "Civil War II" crossover due to discovering that a lot of mutants are surprisingly on the side of Iron Man. Kitty never crossing the finish line in a relationship is a feature, not a bug, as the next person on the list realized.

2 Colossus

Colossus is arguably the love of Kitty Pryde's life or at least the most consistent person in her heart. She has been in love with the gentle giant since she first arrived at Xavier's School, and they've had an on-again, off-again romance going on four decades now. However, the two never quite lined up.

Kitty is much younger than Colossus, and as she has grown, her interests have changed. Nevertheless, they still care deeply about each other and have made several efforts, including recently, when they almost tied the knot. Almost, because Kitty left him at the altar.

1 Rachel Summers

Kitty's tendency to bail on relationships, especially engagements, might reflect a general uncertainty about who she is. This lines up with the implied intent of Chris Claremont that Kitty is gay and that the love of her life is Rachel Summers.

These two have been very close since they met, and hints about them have been sprinkled here and there throughout the comics. Perhaps the most significant nod to their as yet unacknowledged relationship came in an alternate reality of X-Men: The End, where Kitty had three children with Rachel.
